Eva Marcille opened up about the onslaught of hateful comments she received last year on social media.

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star appeared on The Tamron Hall Show last week and discussed the August 2023 Instagram post that had people talking. In case you need a reminder, we wrote about the peach holder disabling her comments after users left negative sayings under one of her photos. In the three-slide post, the America’s Next Top Model winner shared gorgeous shots in a bow top with striped pants. “Idk, maybe it’s crack, maybe it’s Maybelline,” one user wrote, while another questioned if it was Ozempic.

When she chatted with Tamron, Eva noted that her weight loss resulted from her divorce from her ex-husband, Michael Sterling. “I went through a divorce last year. Anyone that’s ever been through a divorce knows that divorce is hard. It’s like the stomach flu — you will be skinny afterward,” she said. “When you drop a 200-pound person, you’re gonna drop at least 30 pounds. So, for me, I lost weight just naturally going through life.”

Eva was on a self-discovery journey…

As we reported, Eva and Mike settled their divorce in 2023. The pair are co-parenting while remaining very busy with work and adjusting to their new lives. “Our children remain our biggest priority, and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” they said in March 2023.

While speaking with Tamron, Eva noted that her marriage was depressing, and she had to “rediscover” herself.

“I’m not the wife anymore,” she said. “I’m someone’s mom, but if I took the mom away … if I look Top Model away, like, who is Eva? Who am I? And making sure I prioritize knowing that character and building that character.”
