The Golden Bachelor’s debut couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their divorce after just three months of marriage, a truly record time when it comes to relationships ending in this franchise. And fellow Bachelor alum Tyler Cameron is simply BEREFT.
Speaking on The Happy Hour podcast (via Us Weekly), Tyler declared “They have put a true stain on love in the Bachelor world.”
“Three months? They make all my relationships seem very long,” he added. “I’m a dating expert compared to them. They put a stain on love and Bachelor Nation because it was the most wholesome—like it brought so much joy back to The Bachelor.”
Tyler went on to compare Gerry to his dad, who is “set in his ways.”
“He can’t find anyone that wants to deal with the stuff he does,” the reality star mused. “He doesn’t want to change much either. I imagine Gerry and Teresa…don’t want to change their ways.…It’s just two stubborn old people, and when you get older, you get more stubborn.”
Okay, go off Tyler!
Anyway, in case you missed Gerry and Theresa’s breakup, they announced the news on GMA (as one does). Gerry explained, “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and—and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to—dissolve our marriage.”
Oh, and as for WHY, Gerry added “The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations, it’s been how dedicated both of us are to our families…So we look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to—to live apart.”
