The Real Housewives of Potomac husband Chris Bassett has good taste in expensive jewelry.
When we first met Candiace Dillard Bassett during Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, she was still just Candiace Dillard. However, the “Bassett” part was in the works; her then-susband (that’s soon-to-be husband) Chris Bassett had proposed just about a year before the cameras started rolling.
Candiace and Chris met at work. “We were both, at the time, working at a restaurant in Chinatown in D.C.,” she shared in Season 3, Episode 2. “He was a manager. I was just a host. And he decides to ask me, ‘So when can I come cook in your kitchen?’ He’ll deny this, but I know a flirt when I see a flirt.”
So, how did that flirt do in the engagement ring department? Very well, actually.
Featuring a round cut diamond and platinum band, Candiace’s giant ring was purchased from the brand Blue Nile, according to Brides.
“You picked out such beautiful rings for your beautiful wife,” commented a fan on an August 2018 Instagram post that Chris shared of their wedding ring sets. In it, he’s wearing a black band, while she has a diamond band to match her brilliant engagement ring.

When did Candiace Dillard Bassett and Chris Bassett get engaged?
Chris proposed to Candiace in spring 2017.
“Chris and I really grew up in two different worlds,” Candiace also shared during Season 3. “I’m more like the Huxtables. I was raised in a more affluent, country club situation. And Chris was not. He was definitely not what I saw for myself.”
Still, the duo were obviously meant to be.
When did Candiace Dillard Bassett and Chris Bassett get married?
Chris and Candiace got married in August 2018 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Extremely elegant and only slightly over the top, the venue featured ornate architecture with columns, moldings, and tons of flowers.
In 2023, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
“SWANNNN!!! Cheers to FIVE YEARS!!!” Candiace wrote alongside an August 2023 Instagram post. “Omg I could cry! You are my perfect everything and I will love you more every minute until infinity. Thank you for the gifts of friendship and laughter. Thank you for the gift of love. God did His good work with us and I don’t take it for granted. I’ll always drive back to you.”
Chris also shared a post in honor of his lovely wife.
“From the day before it all started…..to everything in between….” he wrote. “Happy 5 year anniversary swan…wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else. I love you, Candiace.”

Candiace Dillard Bassett revealed she was pregnant in April 2024
After opening up about her journey to parenthood (and role as stepmom to Chris’s kids!) on RHOP, Candiace made the exciting announcement she was expecting her first baby in April 2024.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths,” she wrote in an Instagram post, adding the attribution Proverbs 3:5-6.
In true Candiace fashion, she also added a number of hashtags, with “grateful” “fall baby” and “baby B” included.
Naturally, the comments were flooded with well wishes from fellow Bravolebs.
“So happy for you,” wrote Tamra Judge, while Kenya Moore added a row of crying face emojis.
