The reality star responds to Andy Cohen’s comments about RHONJ’s future
Andy Cohen made recent comments about how “it isn’t a sustainable universe to have kind of two camps on the show,” referring to “Team Teresa” and “Team Melissa.”
Teresa, 51, is friends with Jennifer Aydin as well as Jackie Goldschneider after rekindling their friendship.
Meanwhile, Melissa is close to Margaret Josephs and Rachel Fuda – and now also Danielle Cabral, who appears to “switch teams” this season after having a “big fight” with Jennifer.
Dolores Catania has remained friends with both Teresa and Melissa.
While speaking to The U.S. Sun at the NYC Second Chance Rescue 4th Annual Rescue Ball on April 17, Melissa agreed with the Bravo producer about the show not being sustainable amid her estranged relationship with her sister-in-law.
“I one thousand percent agree with him on that,” she revealed.
Although she couldn’t get into details on what it was like filming season 14, she did tease a “huge twist” that’s to come.
“I’m excited. I think it’s a good refreshing season,” she shared.
“I know everybody’s seeing the change in dynamics and friendships, and it’s actually going to be quite shocking.”
“I think people are so used to Jersey being about family,” the 45-year-old continued.
“It’s a huge twist this year – plot twist!
In a separate interview with The U.S. Sun, Margaret revealed the most “shocking fight” of the season will be between herself and her co-star Jackie, while the “biggest fight” this season is between Jennifer and Danielle.
TEASING FRIENDSHIPS
The Envy by MG founder named the ladies she “trusts” and those who had her back while filming season 14.
“I have my girls on the show that I trust and I love. Love Dolores.
“I love Margaret and I love Rachel. I mean, I am getting to know Danielle a lot better this year,” Melissa remarked.
“She seems like a really down to earth, awesome person. So I am also forming new friendships, which I’m happy about.”
When asked how she’ll be celebrating the premiere on May 5, the entrepreneur said that the New Jersey cast normally “splits up.”
“Margaret Joseph’s is actually throwing a big party, so we’re all going to Margaret’s house.
“I won’t say all of us, but I would say a majority of us are going to Margaret’s house,” she spilled.
“We never do [one big party]. I feel like the Jersey cast always kind of splits up into sections as you can tell.”
HAPPY MARRIAGE
Despite the season 14 trailer teasing marital problems for Teresa and her husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas, all is well for Melissa and Joe.
Season 13 left off with a bombshell rumor that Melissa cheated on Joe – something she has denied in the past.
However, the couple were in great spirits while attending the nonprofit organization’s event held at Sony Hall in New York City.
Founded by Jennifer Brooks and co-founded by Lisa Blanco, Second Chance Rescue helps save thousands of dogs and cats who need critical life-saving care.
This year’s gala, that was hosted by Orfeh, honored Jason Biggs and his wife Jenny Mollen as well as philanthropist Wayne Schumer.
“I feel so sorry for these dogs and anything I could do to support and help somebody adopt them is good for me,” Joe, who was by Melissa’s side throughout the evening, told The U.S. Sun.
When asked if he had plans to expand his own family – whether it be by adopting more pets or having more kids – Joe said “we’re done.”
“I would like to, but, you know, the wifey can’t handle it,” he joked.
“The family’s done. We’re done. We’re getting at that age – now it’s about us.”
Joe and Melissa are parents to Antonia, 18, Gino, 16, and Joey, 13.
Season 14 of RHONJ premieres on Sunday, May 5, at 8pm ET on Bravo.
