The Kansas City Chiefs signed Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit via the NFL’s International Player Pathway in March, and in doing so, may have found their offense’s next star.
Set to play running back, Rees-Zammit may initially face an uphill battle to get playing time in Andy Reid’s system, but his natural ability as a rusher is evident in highlights from his rugby career.
On Saturday, Rees-Zammit posted photos of a recent workout that had Kansas City’s fans salivating at the idea of his potential contributions. He looked lean, mean, and built for speed in the pictures that were tagged as being posted from Dallas, Texas, where Patrick Mahomes has been working with his Chiefs teammates throughout the offseason.

Mahomes can be seen running behind the rugby superstar in one of the photos, leading to speculation that the pair may already be building chemistry ahead of OTAs and training camp.
