Ellen Goltzer Shares Shocking Story of a Sign from Her Late Friend Roberta: ‘I Have the Chills’

Bachelor Nation fans got to know Ellen Goltzer on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor” when she opened up about her friend Roberta, who was sick with cancer when she submitted Ellen for the show.

Ellen and Roberta had been friends for over 60 years and were big fans of the franchise before Ellen went on the show.

Now, Ellen stopped by for a candid conversation with Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles on the “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour” podcast and shared a story about a recent sign from her late best friend.

Susan asked Ellen what Roberta would say to Ellen if she could see her life from this past year, and Ellen smiled as she said, “You’re welcome.”

The ladies all laughed as Kathy said that Roberta is “looking down” on her and Ellen then shared a story that shows Kathy is right.

Ellen started off by saying, “A really good friend of mine’s daughter is getting married and she needed a steamer for the wedding. Roberta had a steamer, so I called her fiancé and asked if it was okay to go over the apartment to get the steamer. He said that while we’re there to pick up a couple of things that we might need or want because it’s just sitting there. It was no big deal.”

She continued, “We went through some of the boxes and everything was empty or cleaned out. Then all of the sudden I see a box on the dresses — and this is the truth, I promise you — and we opened it up and there were two crystal angels in it. I have the chills right now telling you. I said it couldn’t have been there before because we would have seen it and we would’ve opened it to make sure nothing was in it.”

Susan asked Ellen if she thinks Roberta sent those angels, and Ellen went on to share an even more chill-inducing chapter of the story.

She said, “The scariest part was after that as we were leaving. On that same dresser there was a little piece of paper behind where the angels were. I can’t lie — we pulled out this paper and it was a picture of Roberta and me at 16 years old. It was just that. No other picture or no other paper. I never remember seeing it and I had been there a few times to help them straighten out some things. I had never seen that and he hadn’t either.”
