Without a doubt, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is one of the few guys who can claim the best player in the NBA these days. Add his recent inclusion to a roster with Michael Jordan, Caitlin Clark, and Serena Williams, and his case to be the most popular star out there has become stronger.
On the court, Doncic has proven many times he’s the best player out there. During the Mavs’ Game 2 win against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Slovenian All-Star posted Michael Jordan-like numbers of 32 points, six rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and a block in 45 minutes on the court. Kyrie Irving added 23 points, while PJ Washington made 18 more to help Dallas even the series against the Clippers.
For their part, Los Angeles was led by the All-Star duo of Paul George and James Harden when both players dropped 22 points each. In his first game back from an injury, Kawhi Leonard finished the game with 15 points and seven assists, while Ivica Zubac tallied a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Even though the Clippers tried their best to gain the lead, the Mavs just played better. Of course, the biggest factor to their victory and their late season surge is no other than Doncic himself.
Dallas Mavericks Guard Luka Doncic Joins Star-Studded Lineup For Gatorade
Thanks to his prowess on the court and increasing popularity off it, Gatorade has taken notice by signing Doncic to an endorsement deal. In an article written by Tyler Conway for Bleacher Report:
“Joining Gatorade is an exciting moment for me,” Dončić said in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with a brand that has supported so many great athletes. Basketball has given me so much, and together with Gatorade, I’m excited to help more kids experience the benefits of sports,” Conway wrote.
The Mavs’ All-Star joins Gatorade’s roster of athletes , which includes Jordan, Clark, Williams, Karl-Anthony Towns, Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson, and Jayson Tatum. Furthermore, no details about the deal was made public.
Doncic’s star is only bound to shine brighter with this new development in his career. If all goes well, he could become the drink’s biggest star in the years to come.
