Luis Ruelas is going after his ex, Vanessa Reiser, once again. Vanessa and The Real Housewives of New Jersey star have been engaged in a legal battle for months now.
In June 2023, Vanessa’s lawyer broke down the restraining order she was filing against Luis. The filing claimed that Luis used Bo Dietl’s PI firm to get to Vanessa. Allegedly, one of Bo’s investigators posed as a therapy patient to receive treatment from Vanessa.
Fans will recall that fellow RHONJ stars accused Luis of using Bo to dig up dirt on them as well. Vanessa’s lawyer called Luis and Bo’s actions a “harassment and abuse” campaign. Now, Luis has fired back to the tune of $5 million.

The U.S. Sun obtained court documents breaking down updates in the case. The docs read, “Ruelas believed Reiser was disclosing confidential information to patients and cast members of Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) to use against him and his wife, in an attempt to bolster the colloque of the show and continue the relentless campaign of harassment, despite existing orders precluding this type of conduct.”
In the court documents, Luis admitted that “investigators attended therapy sessions with Reiser to gain first-hand knowledge of Reiser’s improprieties and violations of both ethical and legal conduct.” Luis also accused Reiser’s lawyer, Kevin S. Johnson, of fabricating emails under fake names in an alleged “obsession with Ruelas and RHONJ.”
“The court found that Johnson had a bizarre infatuation with the cast members of RHONJ; that of which is upon information and belief the basis for the continued media blitz and false and misleading statements made therein.” Luis decided to seek reparations over his reputation, saying it was “damaged beyond repair.” He has demanded punitive damages of no less than $5 million.
