Any fan of The Real Housewives of Potomac will know that Andy Cohen and Candiace Dillard Bassett have had a rocky relationship in the past. However, the Bravo figurehead revealed that Candy Pants confided in him about her pregnancy before the news was made public.
“Huge week for Bravo News,” Andy said on his show, SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “[I’m] very happy for Candiace’s pregnancy news. … When we talked about her leaving the show, she confided that she was pregnant, and I was so excited, and I just think it’s great. It’s great. I’m very happy for them. This is wonderful.”
In case you missed it, Candiace shared that she and her husband, Chris Bassett, were excited to welcome their bundle of joy into the world. In addition to sharing that she’s about “13 weeks,” the reality star said she’s excited to join the Mom Club. “It’s a space I’ve kind of been peering into from the outside; most of my friends … have kids. I’ve helped raise and change diapers,” she said. “So, it’s just gonna be fun to be a part of that community and … grow as a member now.”
Who will we see during Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac?
If you were hoping to see Candiace’s pregnancy journey during the next season of RHOP, you’d have better luck checking her Instagram. The Bravo vet announced her plans to leave the series right before the three-part reunion.
“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with [Bravo], I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships … and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” Candiace said. She continued, “With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
Candiace isn’t the only familiar face stepping away, though. Robyn Dixon, who joined the Bravoverse during the show’s first season, also shared the news that she was “fired” from the franchise earlier this week.
“Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of [RHOP],” she said on her podcast, Reasonably Shady. “The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat [it] and say, ‘Ooh … this is a break’ or anything like [that]. This is a network decision.”
We’re still waiting to see what the network decides about Robyn and Candiace’s co-stars. However, the word on Gizelle Bryant’s street is that newbie Nneka Ihim was also given a pink slip.
Does that mean there’s space for Charisse Jackson Jordan in the mix, now?
