The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 was a bit stale if you stop and ask any die-hard fan. Between some of the women refusing to film with one another and others withholding information about their lives, there wasn’t much to go on. The few storylines that viewers did have weren’t exactly the most interesting. Wendy Osefo and Nneka Ihim should have been fast friends but instead decided to feud over their Nigerian culture, leaving everyone wondering if there would be a shake-up for Season 9.
The unsung hero
Keiarna Stewart was just a “friend of” the housewives, but she really stood out to fans. As the friend of Wendy and Candiace Dillard Bassett, viewers were skeptical about her personality, but the beauty maven charmed everyone. Our first dose of Keiarna was during the cast trip, where her turbulent belly played a main role in fans’ feeling empathy for her. Instead of being checked on by her friends, Gizelle Bryant looked out for her and asked if she needed ginger ale.
I liked that Keiarna seemed to know already what she was getting into to even while on the plane. Wendy stated loud and coldly, “I’m not sharing a room with Keiana,” and the rookie let the comment roll right off her back, even though her friend got her name wrong. However, since she was new to the group, I did expect Wendy to lend a helping hand.
Keiarna also found herself in the middle of a brawl while trying to defend Candiace. Instead, she was shoved to the floor and given a head injury. But the altercation proved she wasn’t one to mess with. Sadly the fight was also the highlight of the season even though Bravo only was able to retrieve the audio from the incident. Somehow single handidly, Keiarna made the season interesting so I am going to need more of her.
Karen approves
Even though nothing has been officially confirmed the Grand Dame, Karen Huger seems to have noted that Keiarna will be back in some capacity. In her Instagram Story, Karen reposted a blog that revealed that the newbie had snagged a last-minute role on the popular series. Now, why would an OG post misleading information about a supposed cast member if there wasn’t just a tiny bit of truth to the rumor? TV Deets also reported that Ashley Darby, Wendy, Gizelle, Karen, and Mia Thornton will be returning, but nothing is set in stone.
A spot is open
There are currently two spots open, thanks to Candiace and Robyn Dixon bowing out. So it wouldn’t be surprising to see Keiarna stepping in as a replacement. The rookie is a hard worker who owns two businesses: Bali Weave Express and K Stewart Beauty. Fans watched during Season 8 as the woman took a relaxing break at her medspa. While many of the other RHOP have side hustles they have created through the show, Keiarna’s business is homegrown, and it would be interesting to see her as a boss bitch. I also think she and Mia would bond pretty well.
Keiarna is fun
This is not to be overlooked, but Keiarna is a good time! She seemed to get along with the cast members genuinely and could interject into almost any conversation. I liked seeing how easygoing Keiarna was during Season 8, and she was cute as a button. The woman knows how to dress for success and would make the perfect addition to the cherry blossom group. I think she is such an interesting person. And I love how soft-spoken she is, and her fashions are truly fashioning ( looking at you, Gizelle, and Robyn.)
Bravo needs a person like her on the show to bring everyone together. Poor Karen is holding so much on her shoulders this season, she needs to share the weight of carrying Potomac with K. Given a chance, I think Keiarna would thrive as a housewife. Her confessionals were on point, drenched in facts and sarcasm. Season 8 was sadly a letdown, but if Bravo offers K a contract, there could be hope for the franchise.
