Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Brandon Facyson looks to bring veteran leadership as he enters his third season with the Silver and Black.

Brandon Facyson Entering Third Season With Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the youngest defensive back rooms in the NFL. The oldest of the group is defensive back Brandon Facyson, who will be entering his seventh NFL season and third with the Silver and Black.

Facyson is in his second stint with the Raiders, having played for the team in 2021 before returning to the club this past season. He missed most of the 2023 season with a shin injury he suffered in training camp.

Facyson ended last season playing three games and finished with five total tackles (four solo).

Facyson was given with an overall grade of 51.7 by Pro Football Focus for the 2023 season. He also received a 42.9 run defense grade and a 55.4 coverage grade.

Through six seasons, Facyson has played 75 games and has 148 total tackles, 117 solo tackles, four tackles for a loss and one interception.

In the latest episode of the “Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast,” Hondo Carpenter Sr. expressed his thoughts on the Raiders’ secondary, including Facyson.

“Facyson has played at a very high level, but last year, he was injured,” Carpenter said. “He’s a very hard worker and a very good player. He’s played at the Raiders at a very high level. I don’t think you throw that guy away.

“This is a guy who’s proven. He’s a great veteran, and he is wonderful in the locker room. He’s great with other players and young players. You never worry about him doing anything stupid. He’s a calming influence and a good influence. I think he’s going to be very interesting to watch.

“Depending on how many corners the Raiders draft and how those corners perform, I think he’s got a legitimate shot. He is a very good player and a great presence.” You want that type of influence, and Face is going to be that kind of guy.”

It will be very interesting to watch how Facyson competes this offseason, especially after an injury, and to see what kind of impact he makes as a veteran in the Silver and Black’s defensive back room.
