Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s children have slammed the Real Housewives of Orange County star after she called their dad, her ex-husband Sean Burke, a ‘narcissist.’
Two of the former couple’s seven children — daughter Rowan, 21, and son Jacob, 18 — took online and said the reality star, 46, was the ‘narcissist’ as well as an ‘abuser, liar and manipulator.’
Their daughter took to Instagram first in defense of her father, as she re-shared Braunwyn’s original post, where she called Sean a ‘covert narcissist.’
‘So my mother and grandmother whom I had to block both and speak to neither have decided to spread lies about my dad on social media. And I’m done. I’m done.’
‘My dad is the kindest most amazing person and the reason I’m still here.’

Rowan then stated her father was her ‘best friend’ and her ‘rock,’ and claimed that Braunwyn and her mom, Deborah Windham, are the ‘narcissists.’
‘She is the narcissist. My grandma and mother. End. Of. Story. I’m done with the lies and I’m done with them trying to blast his name.’
‘Maybe for ONCE in my life someone will listen to me. Don’t believe these lies. I obviously know what’s true. And it’s not what she wrote in that caption,’ she went on.
After her Instagram story expired, Rowan posted a screenshot of it to her feed, because ‘It needs to be said and it needs to be seen.’
‘I won’t let my words get buried, not this time,’ she added.
Rowan then shared a screenshot that showed that her post had been reported because it ‘may be hurtful to other people.’
‘Looks like my mother and grandma are trying to get my post taken down. It’s staying up. And I won’t ever stop standing up for myself, the TRUTH, and what’s right,’ she wrote.
Later her brother Jacob –– who goes by ‘he/him/she/her’ pronouns –– took to his own Instagram Stories with a similar message.
‘Hi! It’s Jacob, braunwyns [sic] son, I’m the one who did drag on the show. My mother is an abuser, liar, and manipulator. I believe in 2nd chances, but not 20th chances,’ he wrote on Wednesday.
Jacob went on to say that he was ‘quite scared’ to share the message because his mother ‘will not be happy.’
‘She has been harassing my dad for many years now, and last time she called me she yelled at me for talking to my dad’s gf, so idk.’
‘Bye, gunna log off insta for another 3 years,’ he added.
Jacob then shared a second Instagram Story, asking his mother not to sue him.
‘This is just my opinion by the way, so don’t sue me.’
‘I’m taking this online, since she did, there’s a mot more private, and hopefully we keep it private since nobody besides the family need to be involved. I think it is very inappropriate for anything to be posted, for both me and her.’
Meanwhile Braunwyn said she is ‘sad’ about the status of her family in a statement to Page Six.
‘I expected there to be retaliation after speaking my truth online. Narcissistic triangulation is a very real and classic thing, and I am sad this is happening to my family. I love all of my children dearly, and I hope healing can take place on all sides,’ she said.
Rowan and Jacob’s statements came days after Braunwyn shared a long post about her marriage to Sean while promoting a new article about her in Us Weekly.
‘This article comes at the end of the hardest 3 years of my life, I’ve kept quiet about so much, but after a late night phone call from my exes girlfriend, where I realized he was continuing the cycle of abuse and manipulation, I knew I couldn’t keep talking around it, to do so would be to allow the cycle of abuse to continue.’
‘I married young, back then I didn’t understand what being married to a narcissist meant, I didn’t have the words to articulate the financial and emotional abuse I suffered, I was put down, called names, and told that my memories weren’t right and would get told lies that made no sense, but wouldn’t question.’
‘I was made to feel crazy. It’s taken some intense therapy to understand what this had done to me, and while every part of me wants to keep it to myself, if I can help one person feel less alone, if I can help one person be seen, if I can help people understand what being with a covert narcissist means, then it’s worth it.’
‘We break the cycle of abuse by sharing our stories….so here’s mine. I covered for someone, I was lied to for decades, I was made to feel insane…I was left penniless and thought I would never recover…but I have, and I haven’t drank.
‘I see you. I believe you. We aren’t alone,’ she added.
Her fiancée, Jennifer Spinner showed her support by writing on her Instagram Story, ‘@braunwynwindhamburke I love you. Lead with love and truth, the rest is just noise.’
Braunwyn and Sean finalized their divorce in November 2023 after 23 years of marriage together.
The pair separated in 2021 after she came out as gay the year prior.
Braunwyn went on to get engaged to Spinner in July 2022.
She and Sean share seven children together. In addition to Rowan and Jacob, they also share: Bella, 23, twins Caden and Curren, 9, Koa, 8, and Hazel, 5.
