When we first met Nneka Ihim on The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8, she boasted about her job as in-house counsel at a “prominent fintech company.” Reality Tea has exclusively learned that Nneka quit her day job after signing up for reality TV. It seems like her days working 9-5 in corporate America are over, for now.
One less job for Nneka
The lawyer-turned-reality-star began her role as employment counsel for the fintech company in the fall of 2021. When Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac started filming in 2023, she maintained her position at the company while also launching Bido, a line of sparkling wines.
A source confirmed that Nneka “quietly exited” her full-time role earlier this year. It’s not clear if her reality TV ambitions had an impact on her position in the corporate world. However, the source noted that having a Real Housewives star in the organization sparked a little bit of a “buzz.” Honestly, could you imagine trying to have a productive meeting with Nneka on Monday morning after watching her be messy on RHOP the night before?
Nneka’s decision to exit her full-time legal role comes amid questions surrounding her future on RHOP. Almost immediately after the Season 8 reunion finished airing, rumors started swirling that she had been fired from the show. That information hasn’t been confirmed, but Nneka teased in a recent interview that she had some news to share in the near future.
“What I can say is, you guys should please follow me on socials because I do have some news and updates and very exciting things I’m going to be sharing in the coming days,” Nneka claimed.
Whatever is next for Nneka, we’re wishing her the best of luck. If she did get fired from RHOP, let’s hope she can get her job back at the fintech company. That new house in Potomac isn’t going to pay for itself.
Real Housewives of Potomac can be streamed on Peacock.
