‘RHOA’ alum Kandi Burruss channels Pla$tik and Prison Bae in latest spoof video, and the internet asks, ‘what the heck did i watch?’
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ alum Kandi Burruss released a new parody on April 26, describing it as her “funniest” to date. Pla$Tik, the buxom baddie, has a Prison Bae who is serving more than time in prison.
Prison Bae surprises Pla$Tik with the ultimate gift to prove his love for her. In the captions, Kandi wrote alongside the video, “This is my funniest skit to date! Pla$tik & Prison Bae are hilarious!!!! This is just the teaser. Watch the full episode on my Facebook page now!”
Well, it wasn’t long before the video reached its right audience and was highly appreciated. Impressed with the script, the talent, and the dedication from Kandi, fellow ‘RHOA’ stars Kenya Moore, and Porsha Williams, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Garcelle Beauvais, ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ fame Teresa Giudice were all in praises.
Fans, on the other hand, had questions for Kandi like, “What the heck did I just watch?” Another person added, “now Kandi gurrllll….”
While some fans noted, “Ayeeeee you gottttta chilllll.” A fourth user added, “Sweetheart I love you but hell no to be baby.”
Some genuine concerns also included, “Ummm wth is going on.” “Kandi wtf goin on” wondered another.
Why did Kandi Burruss quit ‘RHOA’?
Kandi, Bravo’s longest-running housewife, has opened up about her future with the network. Kandi appeared at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards after announcing her departure from the show during the 2024 Grammys, when she addressed whether she would ever return.
“I have a lot of love for my Bravo family… you never say never right, but right now I have a lot of things that I’m going after that I don’t see it in my near future,” she stated.
Kandi has been on ‘RHOA’ for 14 seasons. At the 66th Grammy Awards, she informed Variety’s Marc Malkin that she was leaving the successful series.
“I decided I’m not coming back this year,” she added in the interview.
Kandi returned to the Grammys red carpet on February 4, explaining some of the reasons for her leave. Kandi stated that after the beginning of ‘RHOA’ Season 15 in May 2023, the network “allowed us to sit a little too long.”
“During that time, I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice, big projects coming soon,” she said to Variety.
The Xscape member has been on ‘RHOA’ since the show’s second season in 2009, making her the housewife with the most time on Bravo to date. Kandi did not say whether her leave was permanent, but it would be at least for the next year.
“I don’t want to say never, because we’re still going to do things together,” she assured.
Are ‘RHOA’ alums Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker splitting?
Kandi, a singer, former reality TV celebrity, and entrepreneur, recently addressed allegations about her marriage to Todd Tucker on Sherri Shepherd’s talk program. The TV host questioned the actress about the rumors that there is difficulty in paradise for the married couple.
“Todd and I are not breaking up; we are going very strong,” she stated passionately. “I don’t know who makes these rumors up and starts it on the blogs or whatever, but Todd and I are doing great.”
Todd was in the crowd, smiling and nodding in agreement with his wife. Kandi addressed the claims again—the ‘RHOA’ alumnus addressed the bogus news during an interview with Us Weekly.
“That was some BS,” she told the newspaper. “Riley actually sent it to me. She was like, ‘Why do people keep saying that y’all about to get divorced?'”
The Bedroom Kandi creator also stated that the public’s suspicion may have sprung from a chat they had on Todd’s YouTube channel, where they discussed recent topics.
“We are great debaters, OK? We are passionate when we go back and forth,” Kandi said of the internet debate.
“And I think people kind of mistook that to say we were angry with each other…We’re debating the topic. We’re going back and forth about this. I’ve been like that my whole life. As soon as we have a back-and-forth, I can walk out the room and be like, ‘OK, now what are we doing next?’ Whereas, I guess to somebody that’s watching it, they are thinking that it’s more than that.”
Andy Cohen ‘super sad’ about Kandi Burruss leaving ‘RHOA’
Kandi never expected Andy Cohen to have strong thoughts about her ‘RHOA’ departure. “He was super sad, which I was like, I don’t know how I expected him to feel,” Kandi told Us Weekly exclusively on April 19, when describing her and her husband, Todd’s Broadway rendition of ‘The Wiz’.
“I didn’t know that he cared that much.”
The ‘RHOA’ veteran stated that Andy phoned her after she informed the show’s executives that she would not be returning for season 16 of the Bravo series. During their conversation, Kandi mentioned that Andy was unsure how to handle it, but the reality star told him that they would “figure it out.”
“Basically we had a long heart-to-heart, and he made me get teary-eyed, honestly, because at first, I’m just like, OK, yeah, I’m onto the next,” she reminisced. “And then he’s saying all these things, making me feel like, dang, did I make the right choice?”
Kandi claimed she was moved by Andy’s emotional reaction to the news and how he openly expressed how much he was going to miss her.
“It made me feel special because then he also went on his radio show to say how much he was going to miss me and everything,” she told the outlet. “And I feel like we really developed a good relationship based off of just us having a relationship.”
The reality star also expressed gratitude that she and Andy had created a “personal level of trust” that allowed them to communicate honestly with each other.
