Kandi Burruss is shutting down the rumors that she had to leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta to make room for Porsha Williams Guobadia’s return. The reality star announced the news last week with a cheeky post to her Instagram.
When Access Hollywood caught up with Kandi on the red carpet at the 2024 People Choice Awards, the Grammy winner spoke about Big P’s RHOA comeback and her talk with the show’s production team concerning it.
“I already knew Porsha was coming back,” she said. “She and I had already talked. We had both discussed that we both were trying to figure out what we wanted to do. … And a lot of people were acting like I had to leave for her to come back, and that wasn’t the case. … Production — they were trying to get us both to come back. So, it wasn’t an either-or situation. I’m happy for Porsha and for what she has coming next.”
Who else does Kandi think should make a comeback for RHOA Season 16?
Now that Porsha’s return is confirmed, fans hope this show will regain its charm. There have been many reports about the upcoming cast overhaul, but who does Kandi think should hold one of those coveted peaches?
“They gotta have Kenya Moore,” she said. “You gotta have Kenya Moore. … But, I think we’re pretty safe; I think she’s gonna come.”
Another possible casting choice could be the former Housewife turned villainous killer on The Traitors, Phaedra Parks. “… I would love to see a return to its glory. I would never say never, but if I could help them get back to being the number one franchise, I would love to see them back on top,” Phaedra revealed recently.
So, now that Kandi is gone, what does she think about her foe’s potential revival on the Real Housewives?
“Chile, I’m not there, so they gotta do what they want to do, right? As long as I’m not there, I don’t care.”
Phaedra departed the franchise after Season 9. She had allegedly spread a lie about Kandi attempting to drug and assault Porsha. It was a whole mess, that ended their friendship forever.
