Running back isn’t at the top of the Las Vegas Raiders’ needs list, but it is one nonetheless. They just signed Alexander Mattison to compete with Zamir White for the starting job, and of course, the Swiss army knife that is Ameer Abdullah has re-signed this offseason, too.
However, you can never take too many shots at a late-round running back, hoping one could land. I know Raiders fans will hate to hear this, but the Kansas City Chiefs got their starting running back, Isiah Pacheco, in the seventh round.
It can be done, and you can find some really good players late in the draft or even as undrafted free agents. The Raiders are hoping they can do that with a guy who has done nothing but defy the odds anyway.

According to Aaron Wilson of KCPR 2, the Las Vegas Raiders, along with several other teams, such as the Detroit Lions and Chiefs, have visited with former Mizzou running back Cody Schrader.
Schrader was a walk-on and now has a chance to play in the big leagues. He has an incredible story, and a chance to make it even better.
