The new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey premieres on May 5th. This will be the show’s 13th season, but there doesn’t seem to be much excitement over it after a lackluster cast photo. However, Melissa Gorga agrees with Andy Cohen and recently said that she and Teresa Giudice filming separately as they did for season 13 isn’t sustainable for the show. Plus, she teases a plot twist.
Long-time fans of RHONJ know that Melissa has never really been on the best terms with her sister-in-law, Teresa. In fact, Teresa was always unhappy about the way in which Melissa and her brother Joe Gorga joined the show. However, things have worsened in recent years, and they currently don’t speak. Both have said in previous interviews that they did not interact during the filming of this upcoming season of RHONJ.
Recently, the On Display singer spoke to The Sun and had this to say about Andy’s comments about them filming separately.
“I one thousand percent agree with him on that.”
In terms of what fans can expect from season 13, Melissa said, “I’m excited. I think it’s a good, refreshing season. I know everybody’s seeing the change in dynamics and friendships, and it’s actually going to be quite shocking.”
She then teases a twist to the season.
“I think people are so used to Jersey being about family. It’s a huge twist this year – plot twist!”
Based on what Andy previously said, it seems the show will be divided into two teams – – Team Melissa, which includes Margaret, Rachel, and Danielle, and Team Teresa, which has Jennifer and Jackie. Dolores seems to be friends with both.
Previously, Margaret told the publication that the “most shocking” fight was between herself and Jackie. Meanwhile, what she described as the “biggest fight” occurred between Danielle and Jennifer.
Andy recently clarified his comments, which you can see below. He says, “It somehow worked this season. We got through the season, and it worked, and it’s interesting, and as I think you see from the trailer, the season is not about Melissa versus Teresa.”
So, are you excited about the new season of RHONJ, or does the sound of the cast being so divided cause concern?
