Angel Reese’s cameo in a Cavinder twins’ TikTok video wasn’t the only starry crossover at the ESPYs this week.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Olivia Dunne shared a few photos from Wednesday’s annual event in Los Angeles, joking that a certain boxing legend served as her “security.”
“Swipe to see my security,” the LSU gymnast teased the carousel of images, with the final shot featuring Dunne, 20, posing next to Mike Tyson, 57.
It was an eventful night for Dunne at the Dolby Theatre, where she hyped up fellow LSU athletes, including Lady Tigers women’s basketball team, who won their first NCAA championship in April.
“A lot of people ask me what it’s like being at the ESPYs surrounded by elite athletes, literal champions and the people at the very top of their sport,” Dunne said on the broadcast. “Honestly, it’s just like a normal day at LSU. Right guys?”
The camera then panned to the team, who topped the Iowa Hawkeyes, 102-85, for LSU’s first national title in program history.
Attending this year’s ESPYs is just one of the many summer highlights for Dunne.
The New Jersey native, who is the NCAA’s highest-earning female athlete with a NIL valuation of $3.4 million, made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in this year’s issue.
In the weeks following the launch, Dunne jetted to Italy with her family before traveling to Omaha, where she supported LSU’s men’s baseball team at the College World Series.
The Tigers defeated the Florida Gators in June, 18-4, winning their first national title since 2009.
“That moment when @lsubaseball wins the natty champ,” Dunne wrote on social media at the time.
Though Dunne is still soaking up the summer, she’s getting back into the swing of things ahead of her senior season at LSU.
