The Las Vegas Raiders just drafted eight rookies in the 2024 NFL Draft, and with that comes new jerseys and numbers. We saw a few numbers worn last season and are seeing rookies wear them this season.
Let’s take a closer look at these changes. Jackson Powers-Johnson has now taken over Greg Van Roten’s number from last season, Trey Taylor is now proudly wearing Tyler Hall’s number from last season, and Decamerion Richardson has chosen to wear Amik Robertson’s number from last year.
Among the rookie numbers released, we found that potential starting running back Zamir White will be changing his number from 35 to 3, the number he wore in college.
Another notable player also changed his number—potential starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who wore No. 4 last season. When he was asked about wearing No. 4 during training camp, he shared with the media that it was the number the team gave him, a fact that he accepted with humility and respect.

It was seen as a bit controversial at the time because of Derek Carr’s departure, one of the all-time record holders for a few of the quarterback stats in franchise history. But it was nothing negative from O’Connell’s side.
Now, he can pick his own number, and he has. O’Connell decided to go with the No. 12 and channel his inner Tom Brady. He has drawn some comparisons to him already because of his ability to stay in the pocket and deliver passes while taking hits. Some notable Raider legends such as Ken Stabler and Rich Gannon also wore the number, and wide receiver Albert Wilson was the last to wear the number.
Now, O’Connell has one more thing in common with Tom Brady.
