Clankty clank! That’s the sound of the jail cell closing behind Siggy Flicker’s stepson. The former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member has been a loud and fervent supporter of former president Donald Trump. Her son took things too far. He allegedly tried storming the United States Capitol during the January 6 insurrection. Three years later, law enforcement finally caught up to him.
Busted by the Feds
Siggy’s stepson is named Tyler Campanella, and according to NBC News, he was arrested in New York City for his role in the January 6 attack. He might have gotten away with it if his Mommie Dearest hadn’t posted his footage from inside the Capitol building on social media. According to the FBI’s affidavit, she basically gave him away with her “#StoptheSteal” posts on social media.
While the chaos ensued, Siggy posted photos and videos from inside the Capitol. Tyler sent her the videos because everyone knows that the best thing to do when you’re committing a crime is to document the offense and send the proof to your stepmom. On social media, Siggy shared the evidence and wrote, “I love patriots so much. Stay safe Tyler. We love you.”
With all of that information out on the World Wide Web, it didn’t necessarily take a lot of detective work to figure out that Tyler was at the Capitol that day. The receipts were literally right there on his stepmom’s timeline. Still, the feds subpoenaed the phone company and confirmed that his device was inside the Capitol on the day of the insurrection. He now faces five misdemeanor charges.
Tyler joins more than 1,387 others who have been charged for their roles in the attack on the Capitol. More than 520 have been sentenced to jail time, with the most extreme punishment being 22 years behind bars. Let’s hope Siggy knows a good lawyer.
