It’s been quite a while since Taylor Armstrong and Kyle Richards shared the screen on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but the two will always have a unique connection.
Taylor, who also appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County, recently spoke about her friendship with Kyle, and how she reacted to the news that Kyle and her husband of 27 years, Mauricio Umansky, had separated.

As Kyle is navigating her separation and all of the speculation surrounding her personal life, Taylor empathizes with what the longtime diamond holder is going through.
“Kyle knows I’m always here at any time. She’s got a lot going on. It’s just a lot of people around her,” Taylor said to Us Weekly. “She has a great support system, and I have to imagine she probably would just not have to talk about it so much. It’s hard to experience your emotions and your feelings and everything you’re going through when people are just constantly asking you about it. I just wish that she could have a break.”
Taylor added, “I also think it might be good for her just to take a year and be happy…”
Taylor Armstrong Reacts to Kyle Richards’ Separation
When Taylor first learned about Mauricio and Kyle’s separation, which happened in the summer of 2023 (but was confirmed in October), she was “very surprised.”
“[We used to] live right by each other and so [my daughter Kennedy Armstrong and I] went to their house all the time. They have such a strong family unit, and I was sad to see that they might get a divorce,” she continued. “I love them both so much, and I just want them to be happy.”
As Taylor recently shared with BravoTV.com, she considers Kyle, Mauricio, and their four daughters to be “family.”
“I mean, she and Mauricio have had this incredibly beautiful love affair that’s been all over television, and I’ve witnessed it for many years firsthand. I love them both so much and the girls just, they’re like family and I… just want everybody to be happy and figure that out, but they’re always gonna have a close relationship,” she said. “I know that, and they’ll support each other and make sure that they support the girls through this time.”
