News about Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been extremely tardy for the party. However, that’s not stopping fans from pushing for their favorite peach holders to return.
As you know, Bravo has been focusing all of its efforts on perfecting the cast for Atlanta’s Sweet 16. We found out a while ago that Porsha Williams would return after her short break. Kenya Moore also confirmed her return, saying she may be gone with the wind but wouldn’t be going anywhere just yet.
Another veteran that fans hope will survive the cast shakeup is Shereé Whitfield. She’s an OG known for giving us iconic moments like She By Shereé, epic one-liners, and interesting storylines, like her jailbird boyfriend, Tyrone Gilliams. Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp discussed Atlanta’s hiatus on their podcast and said they believe Ms. September [and/or] Spring/Summer should return.
The Two Ts believe Shereé is a great fit for Real Housewives of Atlanta…
It’s no secret that Bravo and NBC Universal have been taking their time trying to figure out Atlanta’s future. That’s why the franchise’s longest-running cast member, Kandi Burruss, stepped away after Season 15. “It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long,” she said in February. “But during that time, I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.”
During their podcast, Tamra reported that Shereé’s role is still being figured out but admitted she “loves” the RHOA OG.
Teddi agreed, saying Shereé brings fun energy, stirs the pot, and can “laugh at herself.”
They added that not every Housewife can produce an explosive storyline each season. “We need people that are funny,” Teddi said. “We need funny and Shereé is funny.”
Who won’t return to RHOA for Season 16?
Although we’re still waiting to hear about Shereé’s future, we know a few Housewives who won’t hold that coveted peach for Season 16.
Marlo Hampton, who was upgraded to full-time status after Season 13, announced her departure earlier this year. “My contract with Real Housewives of Atlanta ended when Season 15 wrapped. This break from RHOA is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future and not reliving my past,” she said.
Sanya Richards-Ross is another cast member who won’t return the next season. Even though Bravo hasn’t confirmed the news, Andy Cohen slipped and spilled the beans during his radio show, Andy Cohen Live, in March.
As far as Drew Sidora is concerned, we’re all waiting to learn her fate. The singer and actress has been incredibly quiet since the Season 15 reunion, where she performed her breakup song for Ralph Pittman in front of the other ladies. However, with her divorce ongoing, we’d like to think it’s something Bravo won’t want to miss.
But as soon we know — you’ll know!
