SOURCE: CHELSEA HOUSKA & COLE DEBOER
Chelsea might have left Teen Mom, but that doesn’t mean she is free. On the contrary, the MTV star has a big family and her own TV show. Chelsea is married to Cole Deboer, and they have four kids together.
The two also have a show on HGTV called House Down Home Fab, which is coming back for a new season. But it seems like that isn’t the only good news the couple got recently. Turns out Chelsea and Cole were involved in an ongoing lawsuit. Luckily, the court dismissed the lawsuit, saving the couple a fortune!
Teen Mom: Court Saves Chelsea & Cole From Paying $4 Million – Dismisses Case
Envy, a consulting company, had sued Chelsea and Cole for $4M in 2020. It filed against the Teen Mom couple, saying they had withheld the company’s money. The money was from social media promotions of the MTV show. Chelse and Cole also countersued Envy a month later. They alleged that Envy also owed them a considerable amount, but it never paid them back. Envy claimed that Chelsea and Cole tried getting brands to pay them personally so they didn’t have to pay Envy.
The consulting company wanted Chelsea and Cole to pay $4M. But the court ruled in Chelsea and Cole’s favor on February 29, for the most part. It said the pair had negotiated their Viacom contracts long before Envy did anything for them. The contracts had nothing to do with Envy, and the company had no proof of them. According to the documents, Cole and Chelse “did not breach their” Envy contracts.
Cole and Chelsea had more good news: The court agreed with them on one more thing. It agreed that Envy purposefully withheld the MTV couple’s money. Even Envy acknowledged this part. The company wanted the couple to pay them their Teen Mom 2 cut. The court ruled that it would decide the amount Envy owed Chelsea and Cole if the case went to trial.
There are some new and interesting developments in the case. It turns out that the court dismissed it on April 22. The Ashley revealed the court dismissed both Envy and the MTV couple’s cases without prejudice. Both parties had agreed to dismiss their lawsuits against each other voluntarily. It seems Envy also might not have to pay Cole and Chelsea as the court dismissed the case.
Teen Mom: Chelsea’s Surprising & Awkward Advice For Jenelle
Since House Down Home Fab is returning for a second season, Chelsea Houska is busy in the promotions. But this time, she had a shocking surprise during the promotion. A reporter surprised Chelsea. She asked her what she thought of her former Teen Mom co-star Jenelle’s divorce drama. The report also wanted to know if Chelsea had any “advice” for Jenelle.
Chelsea didn’t expect the question, so it caught her off guard. She had also been open about not keeping in touch with her MTV co-stars, so the question was awkward. But Jenelle recovered from the shock gracefully. She revealed she wasn’t “in contact” with Jenelle. Chelsea felt bad for the latter and hoped the star was “doing OK.”
Houska stuttered a little initially since the question had shocked her. But she said she couldn’t “imagine” what her former co-star was “going through.” She also wished the star “the best.” Stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more Teen Mom content.
