Scheana Shay is not sugarcoating the current state of her friendship with Ariana Madix.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings definitely aren\u2019t where they were a year ago,\u201d the \u201cVanderpump Rules\u201d star exclusively tells Page Six while promoting her partnership with Smirnoff ICE\u2019s \u201cSurpr-ICEs\u201d campaign at this year\u2019s Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif.<\/p>\n

However, she notes that she and husband Brock Davies were present at Madix\u2019s final April 7 performance in Broadway\u2019s \u201cChicago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t really [talk] \u2014 I mean, I went with Brock, we said hi after,\u201d says Shay, 38, suggesting that she and Madix, also 38, didn\u2019t interact much before or after the theatrical production in New York City.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was absolutely incredible, but she\u2019s a very busy person right now, as am I.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shay is optimistic that she and Madix \u201ccan reconnect\u201d when the actress returns to the West Coast after playing Roxie Hart on the Great White Way \u2014 even if they clashed during the March 16 \u201cVanderpump Rules\u201d Season 11 reunion taping.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just tough, the position we\u2019re all in and the reunion didn\u2019t necessarily help bring us closer together,\u201d she divulges. \u201cI can say that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The current installment of \u201cPump Rules\u201d has seen Shay unpack her complicated feelings about potentially moving forward in her friendship with Tom Sandoval \u2014 after he\u00a0cheated on Madix with their now-former castmate Rachel \u201cRaquel\u201d Leviss.<\/p>\n

While Madix and Shay have been close for years, the latter has explained on the show that her bond with Sandoval, 41 \u2014 whom she distanced herself from in the wake of his infidelity scandal \u2014 also goes way back, underlined by a generous financial gift he gave the \u201cGood as Gold\u201d singer when she was struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Madix said on\u00a0a March \u201cWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen\u201d appearance\u00a0that she was disappointed in Shay\u2019s remarks about the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the time of filming, I definitely was not aware of a lot of the things that were being said behind my back. And I love Scheana dearly, but a lot of things that were said are very hurtful,\u201d she said on the late-night talk show.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically, it\u2019s hard to pinpoint something. It\u2019s just kind of this general attitude towards me that I\u2019ve been seeing that\u2019s pretty hurtful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, we are a very resilient group. We\u2019ve come back from a lot. I feel like things that have happened over the past year hit differently than anything that\u2019s ever hit this group,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut never say never. I think right now we all just kind of need some time and space to just focus on our own careers and families. Hopefully, there\u2019s a Season 12, we all come back together and you see the rest of it then.\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, though, Shay is ecstatic that Madix bought\u00a0a new $1.6 million abode in the Hollywood Hills, an oasis that the \u201cLove Island USA\u201d host\u00a0can retreat to without the fear of running into ex Sandoval in the kitchen of their shared Valley Village house.<\/p>\n

Shay, meanwhile, purchased a new $2.5 million place of her own in Los Angeles\u2019 Sherman Oaks neighborhood, located in the San Fernando Valley \u2014 the backdrop of Bravo\u2019s \u201cPump Rules\u201d spinoff \u201cThe Valley.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mom of one \u2014 who shares daughter Summer Moon, 2, with Davies \u2014 is quick to shut down online speculation that she and co-star Lala Kent each moved to the area to secure a spot on the new unscripted series, starring Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute, among other notable \u201cVPR\u201d alums.<\/p>\n

Still, Shay would \u201clove to do both shows,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the crossovers are really fun. I hope \u2018Vanderpump Rules\u2019 continues for many years,\u201d she emphasizes. \u201cBut I think it makes sense for us to do more crossovers, I think it\u2019s only natural. This is our friend group.\u201d<\/p>\n
