Bethenny Frankel says she has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from her\u00a0lengthy divorce from ex-husband Jason Hoppy\u00a0and their\u00a0custody battle over daughter Bryn.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been burned. I have massive trust issues, and I have post-traumatic stress disorder. It was literally the most traumatizing thing I will hopefully ever go through in my life,\u201d she\u00a0said on Thursday\u2019s episode of her \u201cJust B\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

The \u201cReal Housewives of New York City\u201d alum, 53, called her 10-year divorce \u201cmore tortuous\u201d than grieving the death of a loved one.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I would never survive it. I did not see a way out,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt was suffocating. I thought I was gonna be miserable for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frankel even referred to her lengthy divorce as \u201cmental and emotional torture\u201d and reflected on being a \u201cpowerless, tortured\u201d individual.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have had every single f\u2013king thing except for physical abuse done to me, and I am an expert on this topic,\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n

The Skinnygirl founder then listed off some of the things she\u2019s allegedly dealt with over the last 10 years, like \u201cfraud,\u201d \u201cforgery,\u201d \u201cmultiple trials on custody,\u201d \u201cbeing followed\u201d and \u201callegedly being hacked.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been through a f\u2013king war \u2013\u2013 a\u00a0war.<\/em>\u00a0I have questioned myself as a human, as a parent, because I was told so many times otherwise how terrible I was and disgusting and old and irrelevant and so abused, because I had no power to get out of it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Frankel shared her feelings while explaining that she is finally \u201cready\u201d to begin talking about \u201csomething that has been impossible to talk about\u201d for years. She said she\u2019ll do so in a series of podcast episodes.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow a person who is so smart and so successful could make such poor judgement calls and decisions or just not know or just have a bad hand, but it\u2019s been a journey, so I\u2019m ready to discuss it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The former Bravolebrity clarified that their daughter, now 13, \u201cknows all about\u201d the details of the divorce. Therefore, Frankel feels she can now speak about it \u201cthoughtfully and carefully\u201d with the public.<\/p>\n

Frankel also explained that her divorce trauma has affected her current love life with fianc\u00e9 Paul Bernon,\u00a0whom she\u2019s been engaged to on and off since 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s why I have not gotten married again, or I\u2019m not sure if I would ever get married again,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

Frankel did not elaborate on when exactly the new episodes would be released. However, she said she was thinking of addressing it in a series of 10 episodes \u2013\u2013 one for each year of the divorce proceedings.<\/p>\n

Frankel\u00a0got married to Hoppy in March 2010. They\u00a0announced their separation in December 2012\u00a0before she ultimately\u00a0filed for divorce just one month later.<\/p>\n

For the next decade, the two appeared in court to\u00a0fight it out over finances and custody over their daughter.<\/p>\n

They\u00a0reached a financial settlement in 2016, but their divorce\u00a0wasn\u2019t finalized until January 2021. By December 2021, Frankel had\u00a0gained full legal custody and primary residential custody of Bryn\u00a0and no longer had to pay child support to Hoppy.<\/p>\n

Frankel has previously spoken vaguely about the divorce and even\u00a0referred to it as a \u201cnightmare,\u201d\u00a0but she has yet to share specific details on what led to the split or the nasty divorce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
