Jax Taylor\u00a0and\u00a0Brittany Cartwright\u00a0were a united front on Saturday, April 13, as they celebrated their son Cruz\u2019s 3rd birthday.<\/p>\n

The Valley\u00a0stars, who announced\u00a0their separation\u00a0in February, put aside any differences to ring in Cruz\u2019s special day with a dinosaur-themed party. The \u201c3-Rex\u201d birthday took place at a Sky Zone indoor trampoline park and featured a balloon wall and themed desserts, including an epic three-tiered dino cake.<\/p>\n

Sadly, the cake was destroyed after the table it was on collapsed. \u201cJust our luck lolllll,\u201d Cartwright, 35, wrote over an Instagram Stories video of the incident. Staff at the venue tried to salvage the dessert: \u201cYou just gotta laugh,\u201d Cartwright added in her social media caption.<\/p>\n

She shared a photo of the cake, before its collapse, on her Stories, and also reshared many videos from the event.<\/p>\n

Cartwright and Taylor, 44, who also posted footage from the party on his Stories, both penned sweet social media posts for Cruz\u2019s actual birthday on Friday, April 12.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappiest of birthdays to my special little man, mommy and daddy love you so much and we are so proud of you. You are the best thing to happen to both of us and we love watching you grow every day,\u201d Taylor wrote,\u00a0alongside a carousel of photos. \u201cI am beyond blessed to be your dad you are the kindest, happiest little boy on the planet you amaze me every day. Having you for a son has been the greatest gift life has given me. For all that you have been, for all that you are, and for all that you have yet to be. I always be by your side for the rest of my life. Thank you for making me a dad. I love you son, Happy 3 birthday! \u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartwright also\u00a0shared pictures\u00a0of Cruz and wrote: \u201cHappy Birthday to my sweet sweet beautiful boy! I can\u2019t believe you are 3 years old today, oh how time flies! I am so blessed to be this amazing little boys mother he makes me so proud every single day. Mommy loves you sooo sooo much my Cruzy!! \ud83e\udd79\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cartwright and Taylor were married for four years and a couple for almost a decade when they announced their separation. They filmed Bravo\u2019s\u00a0The Valley<\/em>\u00a0ahead of their breakup and still cohost their \u201cWhen Reality Hits\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Us Weekly\u2019s\u00a0latest cover story, Cartwright told\u00a0Us\u00a0that Taylor has yet to put in the work to fix their marriage. \u201cThings are in his hands if he\u2019s going to fix some things in our relationship, so we will see,\u201d she said, adding that \u201cit\u2019s disappointing\u201d Taylor hasn\u2019t stepped up just yet.<\/p>\n

Cartwright further noted that Taylor is a \u201cgood dad to Cruz; he\u2019s just not good to me,\u201d and insisted they\u2019re handling coparenting well, insisting Cruz seems \u201chappier that we\u2019re not in the same house right now \u2014 and that tells me a lot,\u201d Cartwright told\u00a0Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think that [Jax] thought I was actually going to leave, and it\u2019s been three months now,\u201d Cartwright added. \u201cSo I think that he thought I would come right back and things would go right back to how they were, and that\u2019s just not happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since filming\u00a0The Valley<\/em> \u2014 which follows the pair and their friends as they navigate parenthood and marriage \u2014 Cartwright claimed that their relationship worsened.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d always talked about having more kids, and he started questioning that,\u201d she said. \u201cWe weren\u2019t being intimate. \u2026 We were getting on each other\u2019s nerves. I\u2019m not perfect; I was yelling at him too. It just started getting bad. He was staying at the bar [Jax\u2019s Studio City sports bar] more. A lot of things piled up.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of Cartwright\u2019s main concerns was the lack of physical intimacy between them, which Taylor brushed off as \u201cI\u2019m 44 and I\u2019m tired.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to be unhappy for the rest of my life,\u201d Cartwright told\u00a0Us<\/em>. \u201cI don\u2019t want to be in a sexless marriage for the rest of my life. I don\u2019t want to be arguing with my husband for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
