That\u2019s right \u2013 the\u00a0Schwartz and Sandy\u2019s\u00a0co-owner initially wasn\u2019t going to be a cast member because he didn’t work at one of\u00a0Lisa Vanderpump\u2019s restaurants at the time.\u00a0In the latest episode of\u00a0Bravo’s\u00a0Hot Mic\u00a0<\/em>podcast\u00a0(clip above),\u00a0Schwartz sat down with\u00a0Hot Mic\u00a0<\/em>host Alex Baskin (who also is an\u00a0Executive Producer\u00a0on\u00a0VPR)<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Tom Sandoval\u00a0to chat about how he joined the\u00a0Vanderpump Rules\u00a0<\/em>cast.<\/p>\n

During their candid conversation, Baskin raved about how long he\u2019s been friends with Schwartz and Sandoval. \u201cWe\u2019ve known each other for a really long time because when it was part of developing the show, and it was coming together, we would meet at the Belmont and talk about what was going on in your lives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The podcast host continued to share how the \u201cbest\u201d part about that time was catching up with Tom since he wasn\u2019t a cast member on Seasons 1 and 2 of\u00a0VPR<\/em>. Schwartz then confessed that he was \u201cweary\u201d of the show in its early stages but had a change of heart before Season 3 began filming.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw [the show] gaining momentum, and it started to become very appealing to me,\u201d Schwartz said in the video above.<\/p>\n

Right after, Baskin explained how Schwartz pitched the idea of him joining the cast of\u00a0Vanderpump Rules<\/em>. \u201cSo, you presented me with a really compelling diagram,\u201d he told Schwartz and Sandoval.<\/p>\n

Of course, this struck a chord with Schwartz, who immediately asked his counterpart if he kept the chart. As for Baskin\u2019s response? \u201cOh yeah, I know I saved it, I just don\u2019t know where it [is],\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

Baskin noted that the diagram featured \u201creasons that Tom Schwartz should be on the show in one column and cons in the other column.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the rest is history, as Schwartz has been on the\u00a0Vanderpump Rules\u00a0<\/em>cast for nine seasons. As Baskin concluded, Schwartz \u201cmade a compelling case.\u201d<\/p>\n
