And the former\u00a0Bachelor\u00a0is ready to offer a microphone to one of the estranged stars.<\/p>\n On April 12, we reported on the news of the divorce. \u201cTheresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we\u2019ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, and so forth, and we\u2019ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it\u2019s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,\u201d Gerry told the press.<\/p>\n Despite their decision, Gerry and Theresa maintained that they loved each other. Even though news of the split wasn\u2019t entirely unexpected, there was still a sense of shock. Many fans are begging for more details, including Nick.<\/p>\n On April 15,\u00a0PEOPLE\u00a0shared snippets of their conversation with Nick regarding the Golden divorce. With multiple layers of shock, Nick began, \u201cI think what shocked me the most is this wasn\u2019t just a normal breakup or an end of an engagement, this was a divorce announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n He further explained, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t require lawyers to get out of an engagement.
