In fall 2023, Riley Burruss\u00a0embarked on a natural hair\u00a0journey, and she’s brought us along for the ride ever since.\u00a0\u201cShe\u2019s natural now,\u201d\u00a0The Real Housewives of Atlanta\u00a0<\/em>daughter proclaimed over a September 2023 Instagram Story, showing her shorter curly hairstyle that contrasted the\u00a0waist-length micro braids,\u00a0long black\u00a0locks, gorgeous\u00a0crimson strands, and more she’s rocked in the past.<\/p>\n

Now, Riley is giving an update on how her hair has been doing since she decided to grow it out. Additionally, Riley’s mom,\u00a0Kandi Burruss, responded to the update in the best way.<\/p>\n

In an April 13 Instagram post, Riley snapped a mirror selfie that displayed her short, curly strands. “[L]ike fine wine my hair got better with time,” the New York University student captioned the post, revealing a snapshot of how her hair looked before she grew it to where it is now.<\/p>\n

Ever the supportive mom, Kandi stepped in in the comments section, exclaiming, “Trust the process!”<\/p>\n

Back in September 2023, when Riley decided to go fully natural, she hopped on TikTok to share more details about the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also took out my braids the other day, like, randomly \u2014 knowing that I don\u2019t actually know how to do my real hair,\u201d she said\u00a0in the video.\u00a0\u201cSo the past couple of days have been a real journey. The past few days have consisted of me asking my mom, \u2018OK, how do I \u2014 what should I do when I go to sleep? Should I twist it? Should I brush it?\u2019 I have a million questions and she\u2019s sending me a million products.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riley said styling her natural hair is also quite time-consuming, so much so that it\u2019s made her late on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not used to that. I [used to]\u00a0throw on a wig and go,\u201d she continued.\u00a0\u201cBut now it\u2019s, like, OK I have to brush my hair out, unbraid it, brush it, put products on it \u2014 it\u2019s a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
