It is looking more likely that the son of former\u00a0\u201cReal Housewives of Orange County\u201d\u00a0star Lauri Peterson may have died of a drug-related cause, a new report revealed.<\/p>\n

On April 6, 2024, Peterson\u00a0announced news of the sudden death\u00a0of her son Joshua Waring at age 35. In an\u00a0\u00a0Instagram post\u00a0shared with fans, Peterson wrote that her only son \u201cleft this earth Easter Sunday.\u201d Peterson did not reveal her son\u2019s cause of death in her emotional message.<\/p>\n

In an update\u00a0posted by TMZ\u00a0on April 8, law enforcement officials confirmed Waring was found dead in a motel room with drug paraphernalia nearby.<\/p>\n

Officials told TMZ that Waring checked into a motel located in Orange County, California sometime in late March 2024, but did not check out of the room, prompting concern from staffers.<\/p>\n

On March 31, the father of one was found unresponsive with drug paraphernalia at the scene. Police told the outlet they are investigating the death as a possible drug overdose.\u00a0According to the Ocean County Register, Waring was found dead at a location in the city of Garden Grove days after being released from jail on probation.<\/p>\n

The type of drug paraphernalia at the scene was not specified. Toxicology reports have not yet confirmed Waring\u2019s official cause of death and those results could take weeks.<\/p>\n

Real Housewives fans saw Waring\u2019s struggles with drugs unfold when he was a teenager on the Bravo reality show starting in 2006. Waring\u2019s addiction battle and legal troubles played out during the first four seasons of RHOC.\u00a0 Peterson left the show as a full-time cast member in 2010, but sadly, her son\u2019s\u00a0ongoing legal troubles\u00a0continued to make headlines into adulthood.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Peterson appeared\u00a0on the \u201cToday\u201d show\u00a0to talk about her son\u2019s addiction struggles. She shared that he began smoking marijuana at a young age and moved on to harder drugs. In 2022, Waring was sentenced to jail after he was accused of possession of fentanyl and methamphetamines,\u00a0The Los Angeles Times reported.<\/p>\n

In her post announcing his death, Peterson wrote that her son \u201cfought every single day for most of his adult life, for his life.\u201d \u201cBut this past Sunday, the challenge was too great,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to all of the people that have tried to help Josh along the way,\u201d the Real Housewives veteran added. \u201cNot everyone understands those suffering from substance abuse disorder, but I am forever grateful for your understanding and the impact you made on his life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waring\u2019s sister Ashley Zarlin also\u00a0posted about his death.\u00a0 On April 6, Zarlin shared a series of throwback photos from happier times with her younger brother. She suggested that his death was drug-related.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Easter Sunday, I lost my brother to the relentless grip of addiction,\u201d Zarlin captioned the slideshow of family photos. She shared that addiction \u201cveered\u201d her brother \u201coff course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zarlin also blamed the healthcare system for failing her brother. \u201cI mourn not only for the loss of my brother but also for the countless others who have been failed by a system that should have been their lifeline,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
