The\u00a0Southern Charm\u00a0<\/em>alum is sharing\u00a0so much\u00a0<\/em>about her son after his scary health battle.<\/p>\n

During her memorable time on Southern Charm<\/em>,\u00a0Jennifer Snowden\u00a0had been open about\u00a0her pregnancy issues\u00a0with son, James Ascher, who she welcomed into the world with\u00a0her now-husband, Lee, in\u00a0September 2016.<\/p>\n

Now, almost 8 years later, Jennifer’s son, who goes by Ascher, is a bright and bubbly 7-year-old who loves being active in his hometown of Charleston.<\/p>\n

What happened to Jennifer Snowden’s son, Ascher?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Just 15 weeks into her pregnancy, doctors\u00a0diagnosed her son\u00a0with a brain encephalocele. “That’s when the world turned gray,” Jennifer said during a 2017 interview. “They said that if he survives, he may require 24 hour nursing care for the rest of his life.”<\/p>\n

But, shortly before she gave birth, she received some good news. “It showed his brain was healing itself and at that point, I just thought if I had faith, miracles could happen, who am I to say it couldn’t happen to him?” she recalled in a 2017 interview with\u00a0The Daily Mail<\/em>. “We still weren’t out of the woods but it was hope.”<\/p>\n

After\u00a0getting surgery\u00a0the day he was born, Ascher had\u00a0a second brain surgery\u00a0in 2021, and has since continued to thrive, according to Jennifer’s Instagram posts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jennifer’s\u00a0Instagram account\u00a0is filled with photos of her, Lee, and Ascher, who are having so much fun together as Ascher continues to defy odds.<\/p>\n

In early April, Jennifer posted a\u00a0photo of her and Ascher riding bikes\u00a0together, which is something she did not think would be possible. “Another 1st for Ascher I never thought I’d be able to see him do,” Jennifer wrote in the caption of the post. “Thank you God, Dr. Eskandari, and MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.”<\/p>\n

Ascher, who is the “bravest person” that Jennifer knows, looks like he\u00a0loves\u00a0<\/em>being outdoors. The little boy got to soak up some much welcomed\u00a0time on the porch, hanging out with his dad. “Living their best porch life,” Jennifer wrote in the caption of the photo.<\/p>\n

Ascher also got to\u00a0enjoy time outdoors\u00a0on Easter Weekend, when the boutique owner and her family traveled to Kiawah Island, and went\u00a0on an egg hunt\u00a0at school. Suffice to say,\u00a0Jennifer and Ascher\u00a0are living their best lives.<\/p>\n

Jennifer and Lee\u00a0tied the knot\u00a0in a ceremony held in the Bahamas in January 2022. Of course,\u00a0Southern Charm\u00a0<\/em>alum,\u00a0Naomie Olindo, was in attendance.<\/p>\n

Jennifer is still busy running\u00a0her downtown Charleston boutique\u00a0named after her son, James Ascher. The website is full of brightly colored dresses and accessories, modeled by Jennifer herself, which will have shoppers fitting right in in Charleston.<\/p>\n

While she might be busy raising her son, enjoying life with her husband,\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>being a boss, Jennifer still has time for\u00a0her\u00a0Southern Charm\u00a0<\/em>friends.
