Christina Applegate\u00a0was almost a Housewife! But Christina and Jamie-Lynn are both big fans, watching way more reality TV than they should.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of Christina and Jamie-Lynn Sigler\u2019s podcast\u00a0Messy, they interviewed Only Murders in the Building star Martin Short. Martin admitted that he\u2019s not a fan of reality TV. During the conversation, Christina admitted that she was once offered her very own diamond on the\u00a0Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was asked to be a Housewife for\u00a0Beverly Hills,\u201d the Married with Children star announced, to the surprise of both Martin and Jamie-Lynn. \u201cThey asked me to be one 10 years ago \u2026 I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of it because our kids went to school together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dead to Me star further shared that when she asked her friend if he thought she would make a good Housewife, he told her, \u201cIt would have been the most boring sh*t I have ever seen in my life.\u201d She agreed wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have shown up to any dinners,\u201d she says. \u201cI would have been in my sweatpants, and I\u2019d be laying in bed. What fun is that? No. I would be the worst Housewife.\u201d<\/p>\n

What I wouldn\u2019t give to see her take on\u00a0Erika Jayne\u00a0or make fun of pretentious\u00a0Dorit Kemsley, though. And I could see her being besties with quirky\u00a0Sutton Stracke. What a missed opportunity!<\/p>\n

Even though she never became a star of reality TV, she loves watching it. \u201cIn the two years that I have been watching from my bed,\u201d she laughs, \u201cI have probably watched 300 hours of reality television.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Martin asked whether she would be friends with any of the Housewives in real life, Christina said she prefers the\u00a0Below Deck\u00a0people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m kind of friends with some of them now,\u201d she said. \u201cThe stews and stuff like that. I have slipped into their DMs and become friends with, like,\u00a0Captain Lee [Rosbach]\u00a0\u2014 he\u2019s amazing \u2014\u00a0Kate Chastain, and\u00a0Daisy [Kelliher]. I\u2019m more [attracted to] the\u00a0Below Deck\u00a0people because they are interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Christina would rather watch the show than be part of it, another Hollywood star would love her very own diamond. Adding the great\u00a0Bette Middler\u00a0to the\u00a0RHOBH\u00a0cast would really be the Wind Beneath My Wings.<\/p>\n

In March, Bette put her\u00a0longing to join the cast\u00a0out into the universe when she posted on X (formerly known as Twitter): \u201cIs it too late for me to become a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills? I\u2019ve never watched it, but I am in the mood to talk some sh*t. And to get paid for it? A dream! #RHOBH.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andy Cohen\u00a0said he was all in if only she were serious. \u201cShe would be the grand dame of\u00a0Beverly Hills\u00a0in a second,\u201d Andy predicted. But, realistically, he questioned whether she would enjoy the lack of privacy after working with her on a 48 Hours profile back in the \u201990s.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe did not care for this process of ours at all,\u201d Andy recalled. \u201cMy only concern, as I was really thinking this through, is I don\u2019t know that she would love us just showing up with cameras running, gunning her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Andy says, \u201cI will be very excited for Bette Midler to join\u00a0The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills \u2026 Also, I mean, Bette Midler is a superstar. How much would that cost because she said she wants to make a lot of money to sh*t talk?\u201d<\/p>\n
