Kandi Burruss\u00a0shared some big news this weekend when she revealed that she is exiting\u00a0The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The multihyphenate artist and entrepreneur announced the news on Sunday, Feb. 4, confirming that she was leaving\u00a0RHOA\u00a0after 14 seasons on the cast.<\/p>\n

“I decided I\u2019m not coming back this year,” Kandi shared with\u00a0Variety\u00a0on Sunday, Feb. 4 while walking the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. “I\u2019m going to take a break, I\u2019m going to take a moment\u2026 I\u2019m not coming back this year.”<\/p>\n
The news comes after the most recent season of\u00a0RHOA,\u00a0Season 15, wrapped up back in September 2023.<\/p>\n
As Bravoholics will recall, Kandi joined\u00a0RHOA\u00a0back in Season 2 (that was back in 2009, for those keeping count). Over the course of her decade-plus stint on the series, she’s taken fans inside the many, many changes in her personal and professional life.<\/p>\n
When\u00a0RHOA\u00a0viewers first met Kandi, she was a single mom to her daughter,\u00a0Riley Burruss\u00a0(who is now in college!), who was also balancing her career as a music industry star, having not only been a member of\u00a0Xscape\u00a0but also a solo artist as well as singer-songwriter of such hits as TLC’s “No Scrubs,” among other hits.<\/p>\n
Later,\u00a0she would meet and marry\u00a0Todd Tucker\u00a0and\u00a0together they would welcome two more kids into their blended family, a son, Ace, and a daughter, Blaze\u00a0(Todd is also a father to a daughter from a previous relationship, Kaela).<\/p>\n
Kandi expanded her empire during her time on\u00a0RHOA\u00a0into many businesses from producing to acting to the restaurant industry and other\u00a0spicier\u00a0endeavors with her Bedroom Kandi line.<\/p>\n
Her time on the series also gave fans an inside look at her friendships in the Atlanta group and the many changing dynamics she’s experienced with her friends over the years.<\/p>\n
In addition to\u00a0RHOA, Kandi has showed the many sides of her life across several Bravo series and spinoffs, including two series that followed her career with Xscape (most recently\u00a0SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B).\u00a0Kandi also appeared on\u00a0Kandi & The Gang, which followed her staff at the Old Lady Gang restaurant in Atlanta, including her family members (like\u00a0Mama Joyce!) who work there, and all the drama that comes with it.<\/p>\n
