Ariana Madix\u00a0isn\u2019t yet sure if she will return to\u00a0Vanderpump Rules\u00a0for its upcoming\u00a012th season.<\/p>\n

While representing her\u00a0Single AF Cocktails\u00a0book at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California, Ariana, 38, shared what would make her reprise her role, reacted to the \u201cvillain edit\u201d she received on season 11, and commented on the \u201credemption arc\u201d producers seemingly attempted to give\u00a0Tom Sandoval, 41.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think ultimately it would have to make sense for me,\u201d Ariana explained on April 21, via\u00a0Us Weekly. \u201cOur show has always thrived, it\u2019s always at its best when it\u2019s at its most authentic and real and I have to be able to show up and be real and be authentic in order for it to make sense for me. So that\u2019s the question I\u2019d be asking myself going into it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back on the\u00a011th season, Ariana said that while producers attempted to get viewers to\u00a0sympathize with Sandoval\u00a0following his\u00a0season 10 affair\u00a0with\u00a0Rachel \u201cRaquel\u201d Leviss, 29, he didn\u2019t do himself any favors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re trying really hard to give someone a redemption season and he\u2019s just not participating in it,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

As for her own edit, Ariana made it clear she felt she received a bad one after a moderator mentioned that there were concerns for a potential villain edit.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, you didn\u2019t think I didn\u2019t?\u201d Ariana asked.<\/p>\n

According to Ariana, she believes season 11 would have been different if producers had waited longer to pick cameras back up between season 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand why they did that,\u201d she said. \u201c[But] when it comes to trauma response \u2014 fight, flight or freeze \u2014 I\u2019m a freezer so you literally see me frozen in my room with everything I own, putting things in boxes, trying to clean out my closet but I\u2019m literally frozen. For me personally, just as an individual, I think for me, it would have been better for me [to wait to film].\u201d<\/p>\n

As\u00a0Pump Rules\u00a0fans well know, Ariana\u00a0refused to film\u00a0with Sandoval in the\u00a0wake of his affair\u00a0as the rest of the cast got back to business as usual, with many surprising Ariana with their behavior.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou only know what you film so obviously things that are being said amongst other people when I\u2019m not there \u2014 I don\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about,\u201d Ariana noted. \u201cI felt like I was filming a season that felt very different than what I\u2019m watching just in terms of the relationships. \u2018We\u2019re the Spice Girls,\u2019 and then it\u2019s like, no.\u201d<\/p>\n

In particular,\u00a0Lala Kent, 33, and\u00a0Scheana Shay, 38, who were previously close with Ariana, made surprising comments about Ariana\u2019s alleged self-absorbed antics\u00a0post-\u201cScandoval.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think something that is important and part of any reality show is they always want to have conversation. They don\u2019t want the audience to be on one side or the other so they will always try to even the playing field. They\u2019ve always done that,\u201d Ariana reasoned. \u201cThey always will. I knew going into that they were going to do everything they could to even the playing field.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also during the appearance, Ariana, who is set to star on\u00a0Love Island USA\u00a0as\u00a0its season six host, confirmed her and\u00a0Katie Maloney\u2018s sandwich shop,\u00a0Something About Her, will open \u201cvery soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
