It\u2019s been 13 years since\u00a0Garcelle Beauvais\u00a0and ex-husband Mike Nilon finalized their divorce. Following their split, they\u2019ve made a real effort to co-parent their twin sons, Jax and Jaid.<\/p>\n
Even though she\u2019s at peace now, like most of us, the\u00a0Real Housewives of Beverly Hills\u00a0star has a regret or two about how things ended.<\/p>\n
Garcelle sat down with longtime Executive Producer\u00a0of multiple\u00a0Bravo\u00a0series,\u00a0Alex Baskin\u00a0to chat about her marriage. They were joined by Garcelle\u2019s BFF and fellow Housewife\u00a0Sutton Stracke, who has her own\u00a0divorce horror stories.<\/p>\n
Garcelle and Mike were married for nearly a decade, but there were bumps in the road prior to their marriage. She told the\u00a0Hot Mic\u00a0podcast interviewer that she and Mike \u201cbroke up\u201d before they were married.<\/p>\n
According to Garcelle, the couple came to a \u201ccrossroads\u201d when her then-boyfriend told her that marriage wasn\u2019t \u201cpart of his five-year plan.\u201d At the time, Garcelle and Mike weren\u2019t the only ones affected by their split. Garcelle\u2019s son from a previous relationship, Oliver Saunders, would have been about 10 at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember he was crying, I was crying, and Oliver was crying,\u201d Garcelle told Alex and Sutton. \u201cIt was really kind of sad.\u201d Kind of? If everybody\u2019s sobbing, it\u2019s more than \u201ckind of sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
But even though her marriage ended, Garcelle wishes she had stuck it out just a little longer. \u201cI was married almost nine years,\u201d she said. \u201cI should\u2019ve waited for the tenth year.\u201d There are financial ramifications for marriages that end after ten years or more, though I seriously doubt Garcelle needs the money. I think she\u2019s doing fine on her own.<\/p>\n
After she discovered her husband was having an affair, she wasted no time filing for divorce. She blamed the hasty decision on a \u201cproblem\u201d she says she has of moving \u201ctoo quick.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
