Longtime \u201cReal Housewives of Atlanta\u201d star\u00a0Kandi Burruss\u00a0admits that she feels \u201cfree\u201d after deciding to part ways with the franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel totally free actually. I mean, you know, I already knew that Porsha was, you know, thinking about coming back when I was thinking about leaving because we both talked to each other about it, but Cynthia told me that I\u2019m not gonna feel it until the show is on air,\u201d Burruss told Andy Cohen on\u00a0SiriusXM\u2019s Andy Cohen Live.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe said right now, I\u2019m living my best life. Right? So, she\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m not really gonna care,\u2019 but she says when the show starts airing, I\u2019m gonna feel like, \u2018Oh man, I\u2019m not there with them,’\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

Burruss has been a full-time star on RHOA since season 2.<\/p>\n

The main reason that Burruss left RHOA is because she wants to pursue other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI decided I\u2019m not coming back this year,\u201d she\u00a0told\u00a0Variety\u2019s Marc Malkin on the red carpet. \u201cIt\u2019s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long. But during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice, big projects coming soon, so I\u2019m super excited about those things,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cA friend of mine was like, \u2018Why do you keep doing it?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Well, I think because I\u2019ve just been doing it so long, it just feels weird to think not to do it?\u2019 So I was just like, \u2018You know what? I\u2019m going to take a break, I\u2019m going to take a moment,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She went on to say that she isn\u2019t parting ways with\u00a0Bravo\u00a0completely and that she will still be involved with the network moving forward.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cohen spoke highly of Burruss after learning her decicion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIncredible run and you think about how much she not only went through on the show but brought to the show,\u201d Cohen said in a February episode of\u00a0SiriusXM\u2019s Andy Cohen Live. \u201cShe has been one of my favorite people to work with in my whole time,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

As far as RHOA is concerned, Cohen has been fielding questions about the upcoming season 16 cast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI talked a lot about Kandi yesterday and I think Kandi\u2019s leaving \u2018Housewives of Atlanta\u2019 is now having everyone saying, \u2018Well, what is happening with \u2018Housewives of Atlanta?\u2019 Why aren\u2019t we getting an update? What\u2019s going on?\u2019 and so, and I didn\u2019t want to talk about it,\u201d Cohen explained on the February 6, 2024, episode of\u00a0SiriusXM\u2019s Andy Cohen Live.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do want to say I\u2019m not announcing anything, but we are on it and the casting is superb and it\u2019s funny because I saw casting last week and last week I was thinking, \u2018Okay, this is gonna be great. We have a sense,’\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
