The daughter of the former\u00a0Golden Bachelor<\/em>\u00a0lead, 72, shared on\u00a0Instagram\u00a0on Wednesday, April 24, \u201cIt\u2019s no surprise the news of my Dad and Theresa choosing to split has sparked a range of emotions and opinions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love how invested people were in the show, what an experience to have you along for the ride!\u201d she wrote. \u201cWhat has been disheartening is the level of rage and cruelty that our family has been met with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Dad and Theresa are kind, good people that made this decision for them, no one else,\u201d she continued. \u201cI kindly urge everyone to remember that behind every story, there are real people with real feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went to thank fans who have supported both her family and Nist, 70, amid the divorce, saying, \u201cTo all those that have chosen to show my dad, Theresa and our family love and compassion\u2026Thank you from the bottom of my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post also included a quote which read, \u201cEverything always works out in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angie \u2014\u00a0who Turner shares with\u00a0late wife Toni\u00a0\u2014\u00a0also praised\u00a0Dear Shandy<\/em>\u00a0cohost Andy Levine\u2019s take on the matter. She noted he \u201creally nailed this sentiment\u201d on his show.<\/p>\n

On the podcast, Levine explained, \u201cI 100% believe there was a real, strong romantic connection.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEven they got swept up like kids. If anything, I think they should be given credit for ending it so soon,\u201d Levine said in a clip shared on\u00a0YouTube. \u201cThey could\u2019ve milked this for a year. [Gerry] could\u2019ve been like, \u2018Hey Theresa, let\u2019s get some Instagram followers, let\u2019s get some fame, let\u2019s get some red carpet.\u2019 No. To be fair to us, and the world, we\u2019re going to end this sooner than anyone thought. And I give them tremendous credit for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The message comes after the reality TV couple announced\u00a0their decision to divorce\u00a0during a joint interview on\u00a0Good Morning America<\/em>, which aired on April 12 \u2014 the same day Turner\u00a0officially filed.<\/p>\n

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” the reality star said on the show.<\/p>\n

The former couple said they were really nervous about how viewers of the hit ABC would react to the news, knowing that their union inspired so many singles in their 70s looking for love.<\/p>\n

“We have received so much love and support from so many people who watch the\u00a0Golden Bachelor<\/em>\u00a0and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us it gave them so much hope,” Nist said. “We want none of that to change for anybody.”<\/p>\n

“Don’t give up,” she added. “Stay in it. Stay hopeful. ‘Cause we are.”<\/p>\n

Turner gave his final rose to Nist on the season finale of\u00a0The Golden Bachelor<\/em>\u00a0on Nov. 30, 2023. The series followed the father of two (and grandfather of two) on his journey\u00a0to find love after the death of his wife Toni.<\/p>\n

Nist accepted the coveted flower \u2014 and his 3.15-carat, princess-cut\u00a0diamond engagement ring from Neil Lane\u00a0\u2014 but only after\u00a0she said “yes” to Turner’s hand in marriage\u00a0when he got down on one knee and proposed.
