Do they take their quarterback of the future or focus on building out the rest of the roster?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/.image\/t_share\/MjAyMTg5OTgxMDg5ODAxMjg0\/davante-adams.jpg\" alt=\"Raiders Antonio Pierce Post Win Over the Jets\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is something that star wide receiver Davante Adams will likely be watching closely. The team has struggled at the quarterback position, which has led to Adams not having the same kind of production on the field that he\u2019s used to.<\/p>\n<p>Adams has consistently made it clear that he doesn\u2019t want to play for another team but The Athletic\u2019s Vic Tafur pondered if the wide receiver could be playing elsewhere in 2025 if the team doesn\u2019t solve the quarterback issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdams, 31, will make $16.9 million in salary this season and count $25.4 million against the salary cap,\u201d Tafur wrote in an April 25 column. \u201cNext year, that number jumps to $44 million \u2014 so, yeah, that\u2019s not happening. The contract will have to be adjusted. However, is Adams going to be willing to help the Raiders out?<\/p>\n<p>The team already traded away his close friend in Derek Carr, whom he had come to Las Vegas to play with. They then replaced him with Jimmy Garoppolo, who was benched after six starts and got released this offseason. Adams is 31 and doesn\u2019t have many more prime years left.<\/p>\n<p>If he\u2019s going to be in quarterback limbo, he\u2019ll likely want to at least be compensated for it. It\u2019s something the Raiders need to factor in as they make their quarterback decision. Adams should be more receptive to changing his contract if Las Vegas is competing in the playoffs with a stud young quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>Beautiful throw by Aidan O\u2019Connell to hit Davante Adams in triple coverage for a Raiders TD!<\/p>\n<h2>Which QB Would Davante Adams Be Happy With?<\/h2>\n<p>The quarterback Davante Adams wants the Raiders to draft is LSU\u2019s Jayden Daniels. He\u2019s admitted this and subsequently hinted at it. The Raiders also want Daniels. He played with head coach Antonio Pierce at Arizona State and is from Southern California so playing in Las Vegas would allow him to stay close to home. However, it\u2019s looking like a lock that he\u2019ll be drafted at No. 2 by the Washington Commanders.<\/p>\n<p>Another quarterback who makes a lot of sense for Adams is Washington\u2019s Michael Penix Jr. He\u2019s got a rocket for an arm and Adams has proven to be an elite deep threat. The Raiders lacked a vertical passing game last season and that would change immediately with Penix in the building. Though Adams wants Daniels, it\u2019s easy to see him getting excited about Penix.
