<\/p>\nKatie Maloney is setting the record straight about Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark\u2018s ongoing estrangement from Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
After Jax, 44, was seen confronting her about spreading cheating rumors on the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules, Katie, 37, looked back on the moments that led up to Jax and Brittany, 35, suddenly pulling out of Stassi, 35, and Beau\u2019s wedding as Jax slammed her for cutting ties with Brittany \u2014 and for being \u201cup Stassi\u2019s a**.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201c[Jax] did tell me [about his fight with Katie] and I was upset because I was like, \u2018Why? Why are you doing this?\u2019 I don\u2019t like confrontation and stuff \u2026 I get that he might be taking up for me or whatever but I didn\u2019t ask him to do that,\u201d Brittany shared on the April 23 episode of the Pump Rules: After Show.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou better believe I went off on her,\u201d Jax said. \u201cMy wife\u2019s always trying to rack her brain, \u2018Why is Katie mad at me?\u2019 For her not to respond to her texts or messages, it hurt her. She was a big part of her life. And the fact that she just abandoned her after the fact that we didn\u2019t go to Stassi and Beau\u2019s wedding, that you just wrote her off, that bothers me. You had no part of that situation. So you\u2019re mad just to be mad, or just because you\u2019re up Stassi\u2019s a**.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s one of the two. That\u2019s the only two reasons I can think of,\u201d he added as Tom Sandoval, 41, noted that flying to Italy for Stassi and Beau\u2019s May 2022 nuptials was a \u201cf*cking expensive trip,\u201d especially so soon after Jax and Brittany exited Pump Rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just had a child. [It was] in the middle of COVID,\u201d Jax added.<\/p>\n
But Tom Schwartz, 40, clarified, \u201cThe reason they were so pissed is that you canceled last second.\u201d<\/p>\n
Looking back, Katie said that prior to traveling to Europe for Stassi and Beau\u2019s wedding, she, Brittany, and the bride were \u201cmaking plans and arrangements.\u201d However, she couldn\u2019t help but notice that something seemed off with Brittany.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was very sort of avoiding the questions and didn\u2019t really want to get involved in the planning of it all, but she would still,\u201d Katie explained. \u201cShe\u2019d get excited and talk about it. But then right up until like the days before, she became very avoidant of it all. So then the morning that we\u2019re all supposed to go to Italy, Brittany sends a message saying, \u2018Oh my God, we\u2019re not going to be able to make it, we didn\u2019t get the passport in time, yada, yada, yada. Just excuse, excuse, excuse.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Still, Jax insisted he wasn\u2019t \u201ctrying\u201d to get out of going.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wasn\u2019t gonna go because my son didn\u2019t have a passport,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe thought we were gonna get the expedited passport for Cruz. It didn\u2019t come. So I said, \u2018You know what? Somebody from our family needs to be at this wedding. So, Brittany, why don\u2019t you call your mom, you guys you. I\u2019ll stay back.\u2019 And then when Brittany\u2019s mom\u2019s best friend\u2019s husband died, it was just like, \u2018You know what? It\u2019s not in the cards for us to go.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Jax suggested that his decision to stay home was a last-minute one, Katie hinted that he had teased his pulling out in text messages shared with mutual friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was group chats where Jax was very openly talking about how they\u2019re not going to the wedding; they had a golf tournament they\u2019re doing instead,\u201d she revealed. \u201cIt was just very kind of rude the way he was just speaking so freely to other people, not thinking it would get back to either of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Jax admitted to handling the situation \u201ccompletely wrong,\u201d he confirmed he apologized to Stassi and Beau, 44.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs it a reason to squash and ruin a whole friendship over? I don\u2019t think so. I don\u2019t know what else I can do. I beg. I plead,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n
Overall, Katie said it was the amount of lies Jax and Brittany allegedly told that put her off to the now-estranged couple.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just feel like there were so many lies, and I don\u2019t like lies. I just, I f*cking hate lies, man. Like, nothing more than that. So I\u2019m just like, \u2018You know, I need a break\u2019 \u2026 and also Jax has just been such a f*cking a**hole to me for like no reason,\u201d she stated. \u201cI think one time Schwartz accidentally posted the name of their kid and he didn\u2019t talk to him for like months, and then he decided not to talk to me. I got roped into it somehow while I was throwing Brittany a baby shower. I had literally nothing to do with it. He just is such a f*cking a**hole. I was just ready for a break.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Katie, she didn\u2019t intend for her break from Brittany to be permanent, but after going through her divorce from Schwartz and hearing nothing from Brittany, she\u2019d had enough.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Brittany] never checked in on me, never once asked me anything. So I was like, you know, I\u2019m good on you,\u201d she explained, clarifying that Brittany did reach out to her when she moved.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t say she didn\u2019t reach out because she did,\u201d Lala Kent, 33, stated, defending Brittany. \u201cYou don\u2019t get to decide how and when and what people say when they reach out. It\u2019s sometimes hard to gauge with Katie because you\u2019re like, \u2018How do I approach this? Should I reach out? And if I reach out, is the timing okay? Is what I said okay?\u2019 It becomes very intimidating.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cVery intimidating,\u201d Brittany agreed. \u201cAnd I feel like she was the matron of honor in my wedding. Like, I love her so much. I still have a lot of love for her. But it\u2019s just like, crazy how we just don\u2019t talk anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also speaking of Katie and Brittany\u2019s estrangement, Ariana Madix, 38, said she remembered a time when they were all together and Brittany was \u201creally sad\u201d about their falling out.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were all together and she was really upset. I just remember her being really sad about it,\u201d Ariana stated, then asking Katie if she and Brittany spoke after her and Jax\u2019s confrontation.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo,\u201d she confirmed. \u201cAnd they did a watch thing for the show, [and] she goes, \u2018Oh my God, I didn\u2019t know Katie was going through all this?\u2019 Who picked up the phone then? She could\u2019ve picked up the phone at any point but then there\u2019s a sweaty f*cking dude in my face just screaming at me like I\u2019m the worst person on the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m good on both of them. They can have their time,\u201d Katie added.<\/p>\n
