Vanderpump Rules<\/em>\u2019\u00a0Katie Maloney\u00a0and\u00a0Ariana Madix\u00a0now admit to having \u201csalary\u201d issues with\u00a0chef\/consultant Penny Davidi,\u00a0who\u2019s no longer connected to their sandwich shop\u00a0Something About Her.<\/p>\n The new revelation helps illuminate what\u2019s behind the severed business arrangement at the long-delayed West Hollywood eatery Katie recently said will open\u00a0\u201cvery, very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n In a preview for\u00a0Vanderpump Rules\u00a0<\/em>Season 11, Episode 14,\u00a0Lisa Vanderpump\u00a0visited the still-in-the-works shop, where Katie and Ariana pointed out to her that Penny was \u201cto be paid a salary and \u2026 a percentage\u201d and that Something About Her was never going to be a “Three Musketeers” deal.<\/p>\n Penny\u00a0has been seen throughout Season 11 of\u00a0Vanderpump Rules<\/em>\u00a0helping Katie and Ariana\u00a0make\u00a0\u201cnuts and bolts\u201d\u00a0staffing and menu decisions.<\/p>\n But on April 19, Katie appeared on\u00a0Popping Off With Teddi Mellencamp and Emily Simpson<\/em>\u00a0and revealed that\u00a0Penny was out of the picture\u00a0at the sandwich shop.<\/p>\n \u201cUltimately it wasn’t the right fit,” she said.<\/p>\n But now compensation arrangements also appear to have factored into the decision to part ways with Penny.<\/p>\n When Lisa arrived at the shop, she told\u00a0Katie and Ariana that she was aware that they cut off communications with Penny.<\/p>\n \u201cYou guys aren\u2019t speaking to her,” she noted.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of missing pieces,\u201d replied Ariana.<\/p>\n She and Katie clarified that they were \u201cthe two sole owners of this business”: This isn’t, like, the three of us as ‘The Three Musketeers.’\u201d<\/p>\n Lisa appeared a bit taken aback by Penny\u2019s proposed limited role, saying, \u201cOh, she’s not going to be a partner?\u201d<\/p>\n Katie then outlined the plan that had been in the works with Penny.<\/p>\n \u201cShe proposed she would like to be paid a salary and then, like, a percentage that she would want,\u201d she said. \u201cSo we sent that to our lawyer.\u201d<\/p>\n Ariana echoed Katie\u2019s explanation about Penny: \u201cShe receives a salary and then we offered, on the back end, 10% of profits from this location. That’s a great deal.\u201d<\/p>\n Lisa didn\u2019t disagree, and said that she recalled Penny saying that \u201cshe\u2019d be OK with that.\u201d<\/p>\n But business deals change quicker than customers going from wanting a Greek salad sandwich to a croissant (both are on the planned menu).<\/p>\n \u201cBut now she\u2019s saying she\u2019s not,\u201d explained Ariana.<\/p>\n Katie revealed that they \u201coriginally had brought Penny on to be our COO and head of back of house.
