Players hearing their name called in the NFL draft is a dream come true. However, getting selected by the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0offers a new level of excitement.<\/p>\n

In their push for a Super Bowl three-peat, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach continued to beef up the offensive line. With the No. 159 overall pick, the Chiefs selected former Penn State offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad. By his side celebrating his draft selection, Nourzad\u2019s girlfriend, Sarah Kane.<\/p>\n

The fellow Penn State alum, who graduated with an architectural engineering degree, was thrilled for her boyfriend. Kane posted the news on her\u00a0Instagram\u00a0Stories and wrote, \u201cWords can\u2019t even\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

She reposted Penn State Football\u2019s announcement, which gave a nod to\u00a0Taylor Swift, Chiefs tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce\u2018s girlfriend.\u00a0Penn State Football\u00a0posted on Instagram, \u201cHunter is that guy on the Chiefs \ud83d\ude09 @Nourzad.H is heading to Kansas City!\u201d<\/p>\n

Nourzad graduated Cum Laude from Cornell with a B.S. in mechanical engineering before transferring to Penn State. \u201cThis guy is so intelligent that the [Penn State] engineering department was recruiting him almost as heavily as the football department was,\u201d area scout Cassidy Kaminski said, per\u00a0Chiefs reporter Matt McMullen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Penn State department wanted him as a grad student because he was coveted as an engineering grad student that much as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his final season with the Nittany Lions, Nourzad allowed zero sacks across 13 starts at center. In Kansas City, he hopes to offer the same type of protection for Chiefs quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes. \u201cI feel very happy and comfortable to play any position the coaching staff and organization feels will help the team as much as possible,\u201d Nourzad said, per\u00a0The Kansas City Star.<\/p>\n
