Taylor Armstrong<\/strong>\u00a0is facing a new chapter of her life after her 18-year-old daughter, Kennedy, graduates from high school this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter is graduating high school and it\u2019s a little hard. She\u2019s my only child,\u201d the\u00a0Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em>\u00a0alum, 52, told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0while attending the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center\u2019s West Hollywood grand opening on Thursday, April 25, adding that she\u2019s trying to \u201cthink about things\u201d she can do after Kennedy leaves the house so she\u2019s not \u201ccompletely devastated,\u201d including leaning on her friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just trying to make sure I nurture my friendship garden so that we can all be in it together when our kids all go away,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

While Taylor shared that Kennedy, whom she shared with her late ex-husband\u00a0Russell Armstrong<\/strong>, isn\u2019t quite sure what she wants to do with her future, the\u00a0Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em>\u00a0alum explained that she\u2019s trying to let her daughter decide for herself without getting too involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point, I found that it\u2019s best for me to let go a little bit when it comes to letting her make her own decisions,\u201d she told\u00a0Us<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019ve raised her as best I can, and I trust her implicitly. She\u2019s a good kid, and I just know at this point rather than telling her what to do, I\u2019ll just say, \u2018You make your own decision.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Taylor wants to let Kennedy make her own choices in life, she does have some advice for her on romantic missteps she hopes that Kennedy can avoid.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the biggest thing, and I hope that she learned from my mistakes, is to recognize the red flags in relationships early on,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd deviate, don\u2019t run toward the red flags. \u2026 I think that after seeing what my life was like, hopefully she\u2019s learned that lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor married Russell in 2005 before filing for divorce from him in July 2011, citing physical and verbal abuse. One month after their split, Russell died by suicide at the age of 47. Three years after his death, Taylor\u00a0tied the knot\u00a0with\u00a0John H. Bluher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s past relationship trauma is one reason why she isn\u2019t too keen on Kennedy watching any of her past reality shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not something that I would want her to go back and experience,\u201d she shared with\u00a0Us,<\/em>\u00a0adding that although she experienced some difficult times, it is a \u201cfun\u201d show. \u201c[The Real Housewives] Ultimate Girl Trip<\/em>\u00a0season 2, we had a blast. If she wanted to laugh at it and have fun with it, that\u2019d be great. As long as we\u2019re having fun, I don\u2019t want her to see me hurting.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Taylor has starred on\u00a0RHOBH<\/em>\u00a0and later\u00a0RHOC<\/em>, which she\u00a0left last year, Kennedy isn\u2019t too interested in becoming a reality TV personality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be fine with it if she wanted to do it. I just know that Kennedy\u2019s very stubborn, and she\u2019s not going to let somebody talk her into doing anything she doesn\u2019t want to do,\u201d she explained. \u201cShe\u2019s very strong-willed and so she would not let anyone manipulate her, so I don\u2019t know if she\u2019d be a good cast member.
