Because he\u2019s one of the most competitive dudes you\u2019ll ever meet \u2014 Draymond Green is diminishing the ultimate legacy of how people are looking at the leadership of Stephen Curry. That\u2019s what\u2019s happening right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\">\n<div class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image__wrapper\">\n<p>Curry was standing next to Green when the latter was yelling Wednesday at referee Ray Acosta, who hit him with two technicals, which resulted in an automatic ejection for the veteran center.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/user-expressly-acknowledges-agrees-downloading-79112006_216bec.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors looks upset during a game against the Orlando Magic at Kia Center on March 27, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. \" \/><\/p>\n<p>Curry didn\u2019t intervene and\u00a0appeared emotional\u00a0while standing on the court.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, he pulled his jersey over his face and wiped his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI disagree with them [the people questioning Curry\u2019s leadership] let me state that, because I know him, I know how things have been addressed multiple times,\u201d Williams continued. \u201cA lot of people aren\u2019t familiar with things that are happening behind closed doors \u2026 Even if it is a smaller niche of people, these are high-level people now that are starting to look at it that way. By the way, that to me, is on Draymond because Steph is taking the high road\u2026 that\u2019s the way Steph deals with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\">\n<div class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image__wrapper\">\n<p>Taking to his Instagram after Thursday\u2019s \u201cFirst Take,\u201d Williams claimed a video of his analysis \u201cgot clipped off,\u201d which made it seem like he agreed with those who think Green is hurting Curry\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jay Williams says \u201chigh level\u201d NBA people are questioning Steph Curry\u2019s leadership. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDraymond Green is diminishing the ultimate legacy of how people are looking at the leadership of Stephen Curry. So, we\u2019re just clarifying and clearing things up \u2026 I wanted to dispel that, so let\u2019s just set things straight for what they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green lost his cool after Acosta called a foul on Warriors swingman Andrew Wiggins \u2014 and Magic forward Paolo Banchero got the and-1 to tie the game at 6-6.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Steph\u2019s reaction to Draymond\u2019s ejection <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5TH5DYC9w1\">pic.twitter.com\/5TH5DYC9w1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Warriors on NBCS (@NBCSWarriors) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NBCSWarriors\/status\/1773134383324746122?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 27, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Crew chief Mitchell Ervin called it a \u201cprolonged diatribe\u201d with \u201cegregious profane language\u201d in the pool report,\u00a0according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>Green, who did not speak to reporters after the game, was seen hugging Curry in the locker room after a 101-93 win against the Magic at Orlando\u2019s Kia Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t want to give ourselves self-inflicted wounds,\u201d Curry said. \u201cWe need him \u2018so whatever it takes to keep him on the floor and be available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green later explained on his podcast, \u201cThe Draymond Green Show,\u201d that he would\u2019ve done things differently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just can\u2019t happen. I said what I said,\u201d\u00a0Green said. \u201cI deserved to be kicked out at that point. Kind of wish I would have turned my body and angled it and gone to the bench.
