Mahomes\u2019 top targets include Worthy, Marquise \u201cHollywood \u201cBrown, and\u00a0Rashee Rice.<\/p>\n<p>However, a dark cloud hangs over Rice, Mahomes\u2019 No. 1 wide receiver. He faces\u00a0potential discipline\u00a0for his involvement in a high-speed crash on March 30. The rookie finished the regular season with 79 receptions for 938 yards, trailing behind only tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0in receptions and receiving yards.<\/p>\n<p>Rice faces eight felony charges in connection to a\u00a0six-vehicle car crash\u00a0in Dallas, Texas. Rice\u2019s lawyer, Royce West,\u00a0confirmed Rice\u00a0drove the Lamborghini that caused the accident. Rice also fled the scene of the crash, which left multiple people injured.<\/p>\n<div id=\"5715f95d2e82548450b81a4963563811\">\n<article>\n<div>\n<p>#Chiefs\u00a0WR Rashee Rice has turned himself in to police in Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>His mugshot, via\u00a0@FOX4:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<p>Chiefs owner Clark Hunt broke his silence on Rice\u2019s situation on April 27. \u201cOccasionally, guys make mistakes and get in trouble,\u201d he\u00a0told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly, I\u2019m very disappointed with the situation with Rashee and how that\u2019s unfolded. It is an active legal case, so I can\u2019t really comment on it further than that. In particular, former\u00a0Cincinnati Bengals\u00a0wide receiver\u00a0Tyler Boyd.<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs analyst Seth Keysor\u00a0posted, \u201cMan, if they\u2019re expecting Rice to miss half the season I\u2019d be far more comfortable if they grabbed one of the veterans on the market.\u201d\u00a0Arrowhead Report\u2019s Conner Christopherson\u00a0posted, \u201cOf it\u2019s half a season *at least* they should sign Tyler Boyd. no joke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old receiver recorded over 1,000 yards in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Even after the Bengals drafted Ja\u2019Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, which moved him down the depth chart, he remained a key part of their offense. Last week, NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport suggested Rice\u2019s suspension might get delayed until 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we don\u2019t know is whether or not he\u2019ll be eligible to start the season with the Kansas City Chiefs,\u201d Rapoport said, per\u00a0AtoZ Sports\u2019 Charles Goldman. \u201cAnd really this depends on how quickly the legal process plays out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf his case wraps up, then there is potential the NFL could issue its discipline and he would likely be suspended. If the case is still ongoing, as we\u2019ve seen with several others, then likely he\u2019d be eligible to play this season. Discipline would be handled the following season.
