The\u00a0Golden State Warriors\u00a0as we know them could be on their last legs.<\/p>\n

\"Stephen<\/p>\n

They missed the postseason for the first time in three seasons and the third time in the last five seasons. The on-court product has also resembled little from the groups that rattled off seven consecutive playoff appearances and three titles.<\/p>\n

The good news is they are just two seasons removed from their championship form and\u00a0Stephen Curry\u00a0proved effective last season as ever in his 15-year career.<\/p>\n

It would make sense then to make one last push.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Warriors made the mistake of sitting on their current roster at that trade deadline and not making any additions,\u201d\u00a0Bleacher Report\u2019s Greg Swartz wrote\u00a0on April 30. \u201cGolden State owes it to Stephen Curry to pursue more win-now talent this offseason while trying to get off the remainder of\u00a0Andrew Wiggins\u2018 contract.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swartz suggests this hypothetical trade package to correct that \u201cmistake\u201d and \u201crevive the dynasty,\u201d landing\u00a0Brooklyn Nets\u00a0starters\u00a0Mikal Bridges\u00a0and\u00a0Dennis Schroder.<\/p>\n

\u201cBridges is among the most reliable players in the NBA, which would be an important factor for a Warriors team planning to keep\u00a0Draymond Green,\u201d Swartz wrote. \u201cBridges would be an upgrade over both Wiggins and Kuminga on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeanwhile, Schr\u00f6der \u2026 would become the new backup point guard behind Curry, since\u00a0Chris Paul\u00a0will almost certainly not return for financial reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warriors Could Add Versatile Veteran Duo in Trade With Nets<\/h2>\n

Bridges burst onto the scene with the Nets after the trade deadline last season. A trade from the\u00a0Phoenix Suns\u00a0thrust him into a new role as a featured scorer that unlocked\u00a0new heights to his offensive game.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0faded during the postseason\u00a0last year, though, and was not as effective in a larger sample size this season. Former Nets first-round pick\u00a0Cam Thomas\u00a0also earned a larger role.<\/p>\n

Still, Bridges represents tremendous value in Year 3 of a\u00a0four-year, $90.9 million contract.<\/p>\n

Schroder is on his seventh team since entering the league as a first-round pick with the\u00a0Atlanta Hawks\u00a0in the 2013 draft. He is going into the final year of a\u00a0two-year, $25.4 million contract\u00a0\u2013 making it $116.3 million between him and Wiggins \u2013 and is eight years younger than Paul.<\/p>\n

This would shave roughly $2.4 million off the Warriors\u2019 books, a significant amount concerning their luxury tax bill amid more\u00a0punitive legislation under the CBA\u00a0that kicks in next season.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s more than just the money, though.<\/p>\n

Warriors Worked Through Struggles With Jonathan Kuminga-Andrew Wiggins Combo<\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Warriors struggled\u00a0to make the combination of Kuminga and Wiggins work on the floor early in the season.<\/p>\n

They figured it out, finishing with a plus-1.1 net efficiency differential when Kuminga and Wiggins shared the floor,\u00a0per Cleaning The Glass. But the hurdle brought about\u00a0trade speculation\u00a0while Kuminga also had issues with Head Coach\u00a0Steve Kerr.<\/p>\n

Still, it could be an overcorrection for the Warriors to trade both for Bridges, who is 27 years old.<\/p>\n
