    Candiace Dillard-Bassett\u00a0has not had a great season\u00a0on\u00a0The Real Housewives of Potomac. She’s been in ongoing feuds with\u00a0Robyn Dixon\u00a0and\u00a0Gizelle Bryant,\u00a0and her relationship with\u00a0Ashley Darby\u00a0remained in limbo. With continued jabs against her husband,\u00a0Chris Bassett, from her “friends” and\u00a0the entire group of women divided into separate teams, it was a lot to take on. Ahead of the Season 8 reunion, Dillard-Bassett has announced that\u00a0she is not returning for\u00a0The Real Housewives of Potomac\u00a0Season 9. This isn’t the end of the singer\/reality star.<\/p>\n

    In an\u00a0exclusive with\u00a0People,\u00a0Dillard Bassett talked about the series and how grateful she was to the show. She joined, with her husband, in Season 3. \u201cAs I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with\u00a0TheReal Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,\u201d Dillard-Bassett said. “With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from\u00a0RHOP.\u201d But, if her comments are anything to go on she is seemingly not\u00a0gone\u00a0but just taking a breather. \u201cThis is not a farewell, but a \u2018see you later.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

    The end of her statement was for her fans thanking them for their support of her throughout the years and how they helped her on the show. “Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, and\u00a0I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead\u00a0\u2014 and more importantly, sharing them all with you!\u201d she said. This comes after Dillard Bassett\u00a0had accused her fellow cast mates\u00a0of trying to get her fired from the series. According to\u00a0People, Dillard Bassett did seemingly leave on her own volition and was not asked to leave the series.<\/p>\n

    Dillard-Bassett spent much of the season in close relation only to\u00a0Wendy Osefo.<\/strong>\u00a0The rest of the group, sans\u00a0Karen Huger<\/strong>, seemingly tried to ice her out following a tense seventh season. Dixon expressed no interest in moving forward with a friendship and Bryant barely interacted with Dillard-Bassett. The season was less than entertaining due to the division. There were also outside forces, friends of Darby’s, who continued to antagonize her. It’s also something Bravo executive\u00a0Andy Cohen<\/strong>\u00a0tried to reconcile.<\/p>\n

    “The flaw of this season is that there are women who aren’t able to find any common ground with some of the other women,\u00a0so there are all these pockets of women that just won’t even acknowledge each other \u2014 which is not a recipe for, you know, [good TV],” Cohen noted on his radio show,\u00a0SiriusXM\u2019s\u00a0Andy Cohen Live. “One of the hallmarks of the\u00a0Housewives\u00a0is finding a way to move forward. And so, that was kind of the directive of the\u00a0Potomac\u00a0reunion.”<\/p>\n

    Unlike many of her co-stars,\u00a0Dillard-Bassett has utilized her platform to explore other ventures in entertainment. She released a solo album,\u00a0Deep Spaces,\u00a0and embarked on a multi-city tour that she self-funded, as well as opening for the likes of\u00a0Tamar Braxton. She has also been acting.
